For some reason I've always been interested in what kind of student a person was or is. It's just sort of interesting to know some of these things.

So what kind of student were you/are you?

I was a slacker student. I could get good grades if I wanted, but school was so boring that I didn't care.

I hate sitting down for hours on end. It's horrible.

Looking back, sitting in class and getting homework was probably my favorite part. Though I usually just only did enough work to get a passing grade. I never did homework in one of my math classes. He never checked, just had a weekly quiz.

actually doing papers is one of the most fun parts of school. (besides lunch.)

Most homework I ever get I finish almost as soon as I get it.

School was very hard for me. I started as a small child very hyper. Had a over active thyroid disorder. So my mom and dad put me in a slower class setting. I was put into classes with mental crazy people. I was stuck in those classes until 9th grade. Everyone in there wanted to kill me. I'm not sure why. Maybe its because I laugh at my own jokes. Or maybe its because I did not have a whole lot of money to dress nice. I was the girl you only see in the movies that everyone hated. I was just like Carrie. If you ever saw the film. I tried my best to please my teachers. But when you have a school full of bullys it makes it that much harder to keep a postive out look on grades. After a while... I just gave up. :(

I was anal about my schoolwork for 13 years. (Not quite as much anymore, though I still have to keep a 3.0 GPA to keep my 100% scholarship)

I graduated Summa Cum Laude. Woohoo.

^ Thats a wounderful story. My hubby is going to school now. And I'm pushing him for a good attendance. :) His grades are good. But being late to class is not a good thing.

Back at high school, I didn't care much about my grades. I did studied, but I was happy with just passing the class with anything. Funny enough, I (almost) always got A's
But when I got to college, I jumped with joy when I barely passed some of the classes (Bleh at biology!)

I talked/daydreamed through a lot of grade eight and nine, then slept through most of grade 10, grade 11 was pretty mellow though I was overloaded but got through it all with pretty decent grades, slept through a lot of the second half of grade 12 due to going out all night every single night. was also overloaded but i didn't do so well with it that year. didn't finish either correspondance course (english lit and calculus) and was so tired that i missed lots of german classes since they were in the morning. I really wonder how I even passed that class. As far as college went I missed a LOT of it, partly being tired and partly being to depressed to move. Somehow I just pushed through the work though and finished before quite a few people that should have been finished way before me. I was a good three months behind until mid may and i managed to catch up somehow.

Well, I'll be honest.

I loved my classes... specific classes, though. Like my HMTL, VB, Networking, PC repair, ect... All those were awesome. But the comp classes and algebra really were just a pain. So what did I do? In algebra, I took the online class. Gave my SN and password to SK and some hush money and was done with it.

>_>

<_<

I never cared much for grades, and am pretty lazy with homework. I never skipped, but I always took cmputer classes so I could go on the internet and look at stuff like 8-bit theater.

Unfortunately, I'm in college now and it's difficult to kick this bad habit of being lazy. I'm trying hard, but having a laid-back attitude to school is really biting me in the butt now.

On the flipside, most of high school I made a fabulous comic series that ran from 11 to 12th grade. Still have most of them too. :lol

I really didn't expect this topic to get this many responses...

I'm proud of it.

In most of my classes since I finish work early I doodle in English notebook. My drawings suck... I need to take an art class.

High school is a complete waste of time, at least if you went to a school anything like the one me and Lantis went to.

College is far more important, and determines much more about you.

Also, the whole college experiece on the social side of it is quite rewarding. At least it was for me. I got away from all that Highschool BS. Freaking drama is all highschool was... College is alot mor layed back and accepting. The dorm life rocks....

^ Your right about the drama.. Raging hormones! And fighting to be popular. Who needs that.. I was fighting to stay alive. I when't home bleeding everyday from school. They like to bring knives to class.
In collage people pay out of there own pocket to get an education. Mommy and daddys taxes pay for young kids to go to school. So when your not paying for it.. You really don't care. Also when your young.. Who thinks about getting a good paying job? You just care about having a good time. :)

As much as I'd like to go to college, I'd rather not waste so much of my life at shool again. It's too expensive. And I wouldn't have money during my time there because I'd not want to get a part-time job since then I wouldn't have time for goofing off and doing homework.

Well I would watch that opinion Draygone. To most companies College is the new High School, where a college degree is just as neccessary for advancement as a high school degree was years ago. This is because of how much easier it is to get into college now and so many more people doing it. So this raises the bar for potential employees.

As for school most of my time at college was spent on school work. Not really the best strategy, as though it gets you a 3.5 GPA and High Honors on your diploma it doesn't get you any good work experience. So your last couple of years in college definitely spend looking for a job and networking. That will pay off way more than the school work will.

Also you should have time to have a parttime job at least on the weekend. You really don't need the whole week to do school work. I know I usually just studied a couple of nights before tests, as really when you pay attention in class that's all you need. So make sure you goto class when you're in college, especially if they take attendance. It might seem obvious but a lot of people don't do that and it really hurts your grades a lot.
