Wow, you've got quite a long list of games to beat, it seems, Draygone.
Yeah, I have an annoying habit of losing interest midway through the games I play. Actually, quite often, interest is lost early on. What happens is, I'll wind up either buying a new game and forget about the game I was playing before, or simply decided to try playing a different game. And when I finally decide to start playing an older game again, I start over at the beginning instead of continuing from where I left off.

I think I'm getting out of the habit, though. I've been keeping a list of games I've beaten. In the past several months, I've beaten nine games (four of them RPGs), and I'm currently about 45 hours into Dragon Quest 8 (my previous file was 20 hours in before I got distracted). Apparantly the key is to not get distracted by another game. I'm very much worried that if I start playing another game, even as a break from this one, I'll never get back to it until it's been so long that I have to start over again. And who wants to lose 45 hours of very tedious progress?

Dragon Quest 8 you say?

That is a pretty long game... good luck to you.

I beat it. And I can't say that it was all that great. Yeah it had some good times... but it's more of a freaking errund running game than anything else.

I remember this one part when you just had to sail a ship in chase of the main bad guy (whom I won't disclose for sake of spoilers). Instead of goign to a harbor and riding to the next contenent... you spend countless hours doing stupid mini-tasks (errunds) that eventually lead to you getting a boat. It was pretty bad.

But the hardest part of the game was the final fight. Trust me, do as much extra random fighting as possible.

Yeah, I'm as far as needing to go to that tower being built on the western continent. I'm finding the price-to-monster-drop ratio fairly rediculous. Items priced in the thousands when you only get 50-300 gold per battle. It doesn't help that I assumed prices would be easier to meet once I obtained the super-awesome-never-gonna-get-tired-of-it-simply-because-of-what-it-is land vehicle. You still need to aquire gold like you do if you were trekking on foot. The boat quest wasn't really a bit deal to me, although I will admit these "you know your next goal but apparently there's one or three obstacles you have to beat first" sections of the game have become very predictable. That's Dragon Quest for you. You either really enjoy the series or you don't. Lucky for me, I enjoy the series, and am having a blast with this one. :)
