I noticed RPGM1 and 2 are used alot and really dont see RPGM3 used, is there a reason, or is it just not popular to work with?

It's not as popular since it's the most limited of all the makers.

Doesn' stop people from making great games on it, I'm making a game on it in fact, but it's just limited.

Agreed.

RM3 had way too many limits. Though the looks are pretty awsome and the third person battle is a wonderful idea. But Agetec needs to work on it, and perfect it. Maybe when RM4 comes out (for PS3... shut up, I'm right) they will have the looks of RM3, with the abilities of RM2, and the learning curve of RM1.

Personally, I liked 1 the best. I guess because of the old school 2D style feel that I grew up on.

RM3 is the perfect Maker to get if you want to immerse your players in atmosphere.

Check my RM3 game (pictures):

How creepy is that?

Yeah, but Agetec spent too much time on graphical detail and not enough on playability, customization, battle... and just about any other aspect.

I still think the characters walk around like the just shat their pants.

Well, RM4 should be better. I might get RM3 in the near future just so I can get a feel for it and maybe make something with it.

You should try amazon, they usually have most of them, and a lot of them are still factory sealed (since the companies that use amazon will buy them up early and keep them around). Though finding them in a Gamestop or such would be almost impossible at this point, especially 1.

But from what I've heard it is the limiting aspect of 3 that keeps most people away. Of course the difficulty of 2 keeps quite a lot away from that one as well, though with that one the possibilities are pretty much limitless. But it's possible to make a good RPG in any of them, just with 2 you can make pretty much any genre you want (Tetris has been done, along with BlackJack, and many platformers and action games).
