I need help.

1) How do I create doors for the outside? In other words, how do I transform that doorless building into a building with a door?

2) I'm having trouble creating an event where you add another character to your party. Can anyone give me an example? By example, I mean show me a picture or a list of things to do.

3) How do I make a character model into an enemy? I'm trying to create an evil chancellor fight against the heroes.

4) Is there a way to have an event inside a battle? For example, the evil knight says something to the hero and leaves.

Please help me out.

1- You can't actually create a door graphic. You could place an invisible event by the decorative house and then warp to a house you've placed elsewhere, but if you're going to do this, you might as well just use a regular house graphic, in my opinion because you're using an event anyway.

2-In the Event Code for the event that you make, just select "Party Control" and then "Join Party" and select which character you'd like to join.

3-To use a character model as an enemy, just select "Control" then select "Character Battles" and select the character that you'd like to battle against.

4- You can't really interrupt one of the turn based battles. You can have something happen before the battle or after the battle but not really during, at least as far as I know.

Well, hope this helps at least get you started.

Thank you. Now, I have another problem.

I'm trying to get secret doors to work. However, they won't open. Any advice to help me out here?

A secret door isn't a door really, it's an alternate entrance to your dungeon.

In the dungeon editor create your secret door.

Then in layout mode for a field, create a secret door, connecting it to the one you created in the dungeon editor.

I think that's it. I don't have the game in front of me right now, though.

Okay, I'm having trouble setting up an event where you pull a lever or step on a floor panel and a door opens. All I can do is pull the lever, but the darn freaking door won't open!

As i remembered, you can't actually open a door with switches (Or i haven't known yet please someone fill me in later). But switches are tricky though.

You could use it if you want some kind of key to appear.By putting an invisible event before the switch.

Then make 2 events, one is none and the second is by putting on a condition "switch is activated" or whatever.Sorry, if i couldn't help you out with the door thingie. But as far as i know switches can't open doors.

Beauty Queen is right.

to further explain what she's saying-

To get a door to open with a switch isn't possible.

But if you create a 2-mode event with the switch set as a trigger and in the event code for that event give the player the key to the door, that would work.

In mode 1 of the event (set to auto), you should script
- giving player the key
- modifying mode to mode 2

Mode 2 of the event is blank (and set to touch)
