I've had this game for a while now, and I can't help but get overwhelmed by the many options this game has. Is there a really good guide to follow on the internet? That helped me out alot for rpgm1. Does the start. guide help?

Please help me out here!

I'm in the same boat. I had RPGM2, but I never managed to fully understand it. RPGM3 is so much easier, but my RPG idea is severily limited in it. :(

Well there is a strategy guide but that's only moderately helpful. Both the Mag and Doan's Domain have a couple of guides that should help. And for lots of great help with RPGM2 visit Doan's Domain (though quite a few members from there are here as well). Not trying to advertise the site but it really is RPGM2 centric and has a lot of highly knowledgeable people on the game who actively use it and are always willing to help. I'm pretty good with it myself but I haven't used it in a while since I'm trying to reorganize my current game, but I have found quite a few tricks and such in it, and some ways to make custom world and battle menus.

So really if you can't get help here I would check over there as well http://doansdomain.proboards27.com/index.cgi . But really the best way to learn it is to go through all the sample scripts you get in by starting a game on Easy, then try to figure out what they are doing. And also don't forget to hit start on anything to bring up the in game help (though there are some errors).

Probably the best things to learn are the duplicate command, trait scripts, and what an action script is used for (think threads if you're programming inclined). Also it's important to ananlyze the relationships between things (like world organization is connected to Event Layout, Object Layout, Map Editor or Dungeon Editor, etc) to figure out where you need to start to make things, and how those things affect each other (normally in the ingame help).

Just be read for at least a months commitment to truly learn it, cause there is a lot to learn.

Yeah, well it's not that easy to learn one RPGM game.Especially RPGM 2 it took me about a whole 3 month to learn. But i guess you could ask someone on the Mag who really knows about RPGM 2

Experiment, experiment, experiment. Basically just create a bunch of random stuff, find out what certain options do by using them in a test event, etc. In the VFX editor for example, just fiddle around with all the options and see what happens. Who knows, fiddling with this stuff might give you new ideas for you game, or a new game altogether.

Ooooorrrr....Drygone methods could work also if you want to experiment, but it could take a whole lot time also.

Well, by experimenting, you learn, which you MUST do for something like this.

Is there any way to get rid of the pre-loaded things? Like take out all the stuff they put in for you?

I noticed there is a lot of that, and one last thing....is the Fu_ma stuff already loaded when you start a new file?

fu-ma is a game you load from the disk the same way you load from the memory card. When you go to the load screen, go up above the files where it mentions what memory card slot is being used, click it, and choose Game Disk or whatever it is and load fu-ma. But be warned, none of the stuff in fu-ma is labeled. You won't know what's what unless you look at it.

As for the premade stuff, here's the deal:

Easy - Starts you off with a whole lot of stuff, both necessary and unnecessary

Normal - Starts you off only with the things you'll need, with the exception of items and spells. But stuff like the 19 pre-made party members besides Virk and most of the maps and buildings will not be loaded.

Hard - Only preset stuff are the scripts needed to tell if a player is dead or not, and Virk.

Depending on how much preset stuff you want, you'll want to choose the option with the stuff, and then change to Hard Mode in your Preferences so that you'll be able to edit everything else.

If you already started a file, well you'll just have to delete all that premade stuff manually.

It's compilcated, i know. But if you want to learn it that badly about the fu-ma then just follow the steps above.
