The game, A Work In Progress, is being made by dragonproductions and Steven McLay. The game is being edited by me, Quixotic Productions. Here's the general storyline, in a nutshell:

Dick Lexia, a writer who has written some pretty awful novels in the past, is working on his new novel, with is a work in progress. Get it? The story begins with our hero named Spazz eating some KFC at his home. Not satisfied with how the story is going, Dick moves Spazz and his KFC to a forest. It just gets crazier from there.

Currently, we're looking at a release date of October 11. No promises though: we may have to hold it back if updates are needed.

The game is for the RPGM1, and is currently using 3 memory cards.

There are also more games that are planned along with A Work In Progress. There's talk of a sequel or possibly a series.

UPDATE: I've just finished up with the rest of the grammar editing for the game, going to send it off to dragonproductions so they can finish up. I've also added extra content.........tell you more soon.

Ok, so I've spellchecked the whole game, and added some extra content.

The content I added is in the courtroom. You can choose between dragonproductions , or my scene, by choosing the left or right podium. I think it's an added treat that means things even sweeter.

So, the product I finished up has been sent back to dragonproductions, they will continue making the game from there. Then, I'll get the near-final product to spellcheck for the final time.

As far as the release date, chances are we're not going to make the October 11 date. Unforunately, that's all I can say. Steve and Fred will be meeting up to finalize the game, and God knows when that will happen.

And yes, there will be seperate chapters to A Work In Progress. I'll post more information as it becomes avaliable.

we are shooting for a november release. It al depends on when my friend comes down from indiana, how long it will take val hal to do an animated sprite for us. Then from there it will go to ice for spell checking. Then go back to us to check for bugs. Then it will be in the hands of the rpgmmag.com

Ok here is a breakdown of a work in progress about the chapters

ok the preview of our game a work in progress is a demo of chapter 1.
The game will be a series game. We will release each chapter as they are done. They are full games in their own right,but each chapter makes up 1 part of the whole game. so once we get chapter 1 done we will be 1/5 done with the huge project. we are shooting for 5 chapters,but don't quote on that. also you won't need to keep your saved data as each is seprate system and scenario data,but prob not a good idea to skip the chapters.

ok i am adding some mini game as we speak. This thursday and friday i should be putting the finishing touch on one of the mini games. Then If ice is up for it have him playstest it to get his opinion. It will still be in the game,but always like to get opinions of others. It is a simple game,but at the same time it is just meant to pass time and along with the other mini games to possibly do something special. Not gonna say what playing the mini game does cause I don't excactly have all the details worked out yet. I just hope it is a reason enough for a play through the different mini games at least a couple of times. The reason for the playstest once done is to see if it is too easy or too hard. I need to have a healthy balance. My friend helping out with the details of the next mini game. All in all the main thing is right now is to progress the story and finishing it so that we can be sure we have enough space for tons of xtras.

Don'y worry Beauty, we're pushing for this november. We're going to have the game up soon: the main factor in a late or early devilery depends on when Fred and Steve get together to finish things up. The faster that is, the faster we can get the game out there for everyone to enjoy.

yeah beauty were really trying. I am working on things that I know we are putting in so it will be less work to do when my friend and I get together. Mainly I am doing some dungeon designing, mini game designing. And text and code will be added when friend gets here. I will let you all know when we start working on it. And we will keep you posted on how developement is going so that you can count down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to the release date.

ok my friend is comming down for sure on monday the 23rd,but stated that he may come 1 week prior to that date. Also stated that he may stay as long as a month with me so we can hang out and put a dent into a work in progress. So depending how things go he is staying 1-4 weeks.
So the game will be worked upon soon. And once it is done, we hope you enjoy every hour, minute and second of our project. Which were almost sure to sub title a work in progress first chapter: Chapter 1: In search of a good plot.

ok I am hard at work on some mini games for WIP:Chapter 1
I will give you info on a few of the minigames, but the rest you will have to see for yourself when the chapter is done. So far our minigames will be playable in an arcade in one of the towns. The ones that are gonna be in our game are as follows may be more or less,but just gonna give you the names of them so when you go to the arcade you can try them first if you like. In order of creation. Names may change if a better one comes along.
1. Destroyer 2. Dare Digger 3. Blind date 4. You don't know WIP.
5. DR. Claw
instructions and such will be put up once they have been put into the game. We hope not to run out of scenario data,but if we do prob create another scenario card. anyone know how change scenario works just in case we need it?

There's an event that allows you to switch cards in game. It's one of the 20-ish event commands

Thanks for filling me in on chagne scenario .I just wanted to take time out to introuce who dragonproductions is and other fellow members besides Ice who have contributed to our game a work in progress so here we go


Info about us:
Well we are an independant group of people who are friends, and enjoy being creative

Steve M: my best friend, who wanted to join in to make his first rpg on rpg maker. I mention him first because he is truely helping me get this project done.
with his twisted, and dry humor, he provides most of the dialogue, situations for dick lexia, and
spazz. He has no Sympathy for peons like you so expect to suffer in this rpg lol. jk or am i??

Fred T: Thats me I am one CRAZY guy, well in a rpg crazy kinda way i mean. I had this idea
about an interactive story within a story rpg, and i didn't know how to do it, and then the idea came
out of nowhere when me and my friend steve just said hey this would be a great comedy. I design most if not all the dungeons you see in our game,but I am not the only one to have put in some creative thought. You should be thanking steve m, and others below too.

Shannon R: she's My hot, sexy, lovely fiance,and everything. She has inspired me to work
on this game, and has givien some ideas to add to this game and other games I have done.
She is not only my support,but she is also one of our testers. She may be a girl, but she
is one mean girl when you put a controller in her hand, and pop in a game. Some of you will see her sprite in our game so give her props you all. Thank her for giving us the idea we needed to press on past the ending of the demo. Without her we would still be seriously stuck. She truely is theonly woman I will ever love.

Marc W: one of our silent partners. We keep him locked in the shed out back. he really is Crazy!
He has given us ideas about some of the directions to take, and such. in fact i want to tributed one level to him. It is a tribute to his favorite game space quest by sierra. Thank him for one scene which I will not tell you,but it will truely be one of the most painful things to happen to spazz. one hint my fiances sprite will be involved.

Val Hal: He is one of our lead guys when it comes to sprites, animations, or when we
need something flashy that we can't do ourself. If it weren't for him alot of the animations you
see would not be possible.

Special thanks goes to: My fiance once again, friends , family, god, weird al(for his funny music),bloodhound gang(for giving us no reason to live,but liking it that way), and of course
you rpg fanatics out there who are playing our experiment we call "A work in progress".
For all those we did not mention get a life, you wern't that important to mention or you were
not giving us any support when we needed it. You know who you are people lol. YOu know im just playing thanks rpgmmag for letting us host the game as it goes through the various stages. We hope that one day when all chapters are done, those who played the game will love it, and tell others who have not to give it a chance. My friend will be down on wednesday oct 25 so we will begin work on it then. There are a few things that I need to get done before his arrival to make sure things are smooth. So with that being said we hope game is done before december of this year. it should be unless we run into a snag. well I will get back with you as we start to add things.

my friend came down monday and had to go back home thursday something happened and he had to go home to take care of his parents. we made good sized dent into our game,and I will be sending him the data tomorrow and He will add the final touches to the new town. We will then go to the dungeons and work them out. We did an outline and were trying to decide where to cut the first chaptert at. And also decide if we will do multiple endings or not for this chapter. most likely we will since we all have a few ideas for an ending of the first chapter. So eventhough we had a minor setback, we are still working hard on it. I just added an event in our new town. I just hope you find it funny, over the top or just plain dumb in a good way lol.

^ May I ask what you use as a spell check for your games? I been on hold forever with my RPGm3 game. Because I been waiting for my Hubby to have the time to play the game to check for errors. And I know my spelling is way better on the mag then when I play my game. I have spell check at my finger tips being online.

What do "I" use to help me? Nothing really. I'm a natural at spellchecking, I'm extremely strong in my English skills (and oddly enough, below average in everything else).
