Ok this is my idea thus far for RPG Maker 3. Its the very basics without a lot of detail so don't expect a lot right now. I'll keep updating my story here and there.

A young guy (16) named ummm... not sure yet was inocently sitting in class when he gets zapped into a middle of a desert (The sandy one). He's wearing tottaly different clothes and starts walking towards what looks like a village. On the way he meets a girl from his class (not named yet) and ventures forth. They find out they have been zapped to a different planet called Kiesk, and its the year 3991 but the technology is still Medievil like. They stay at the inn and a mysterious visitior visits them and says there's a great evil, and they are the chosen ones. (Ive got no clue what the great evil is yet...so dont ask.) And that they are the chosen ones. So like in all RPG's they must go save the world, meet a long silver haired swordsman etc. So they meet a lot of friends and combate the great evil together.

That's the very BASIC plot. And please i'm open for constructive criticism.
P.S. It'll be easier to make my story when I know what RPGM3 can do...

Well, instead of using something so straight-forward, how about throwing some twists into the plot?

Why not throw conventional cliché plotlines and at the last second, throw a curveball and have something totally different happen?

Well I am going to have some twist in the plot, and everything, but I need to think of some lol. Any ideas?

P.S. I know its hard to think of ideas when I haven't given any details yet.

Take the most popular RPG you can think of, and do everything opposite of it, plus give everything your twist. It can't fail. :p

how about this???

THEY ALL DIE AT THE END!

oh wait... that's been done

the whole 'it's set in the future but it's like, the past, too' thing is cliched, but i LOVE it.

Why not make the great quest thing something to do with the decline of technology? All in all, i must say i like the idea. Twisting can be taken too far, and the conventional plotline is good if it's done well.

Why silver-haired?

Here's several:

-The male hero and the female hero fall in love, but end up hating each other.
-You are on a quest to save the world, but you actually are aiding in it's destruction.
-The pretty boy bad guy is actually a good guy and some ugly, Mordor scum takes control.

That's the regular way to do a cliche. My way is a cool spin on a cliche.

...It also is what we call a bad ending...:\ This is why new RPG's suck... they try to make them "different".

Read some classic fantasy for inspiration. Don't copy it, just let the ideas spark your own imagination.
