If I have to go for training in Toronto, I'll be sure to look up Sumisem, she seems like she would be a pretty awsome person to meet.

In fact, if I get there... dinner is on me!

Lantis hates IE, and that makes him a cool person (even though he insists VB is a good language).

Coolness really seems to know his computers... it's nice to run into people that can debate over technology at such a level.

Facts has a great sense of humor. Though one of the newer member, I wouldn't call him a n00b even if my life counted on it.

I think I can honestly say that is the first time I been with a large group of people, that I seem to get along with. Anyone who has over 200 post I think is awesome. Everyone else. I just had not gotten to know yet. :)

Ha! I bet you couldn't code in HTML much lest VB. Freakin poser!

You just lost some cool points with that. VB is first off slow, Java would beat the crap out of it in performance. And VB is what all the script kiddies use, cause they can't learn a real language. With C# there is no reason to use VB ever (except maybe for those stupid Macros in Word and such). BASIC was cool, but VB is just dumb. Sorry Lantis that statement just made you an uncool programmer :P.

He is the true coolness. *tears of joy*

*cheers for C# and being well versed on why VB sucks*

(this is not an offhand mean comment toward lantis, <3)

Minus that "gay" comment, I'm flattered...

But I think you have to worry more about living in PA and me in AR... Mwahahaha.

But yeah, you and your husband r0xx0rz. BTW, where has he been?

Yeah I guess anyone who can make VB work well must be doing something right, given all it's disadvantages. I guess at least you're not using Python, which has been proven to be very slow, no matter how you slice it. So kudos to you sir for making good programs in a bad language.

And though C# is a microsoft language, at least it's a good one. So I guess that's a +1 for sumisem, might have been higher if it were C++ or Java :).

>___> actually I use Java too, i like it better because it's not microsoft but you gotta admit that the whole .NET thing though it's part of the Evil Regime, is pretty good. Unfortunately.

TheTrueCoolness may have the title "Newbie" but he is not a newbie at all in reality.

I hate vb so much. I have vb intermediate and I haven't mastered a part of vb basic. I can safely say c++ will be a easier than this crap.

Well it maybe better Hell Hunter, but if you think it's going to be easier you have another thing coming. C++ is anything but easy, good luck get the first program you use with external libraries to link properly (god I hate linking, maybe it just sucks on Visual Studio).

But hey anyone trying to learn C++ is cool, cause it's pretty hard, but the most versatile and fastest language you can use (well written code of course), next to straight assembly.

And I can't argue that Microsoft didn't do somethings right with .NET, but they still have a lot of work to improve. Not until 2.0 did they support letting you get info on file systems (and they only have 2 to support), so that kind of upset me, as I was working on a DB system for you file system, to make searching for files in Windows bearable.

Java is cool, though of course not without it's limitations too, but it's what I know best at the moment.

And Sumisem is cool for being one of the nicest people here, which is saying a lot since I've met nothing but nice people so far, here.

So group hug anyone :P.

TTC: I had this one project in Visual Studio with C# and the main app was linked to my library (I never actually ever had problems with that >_> wonder why you did) and then randomly while i was debugging this one function it broke and i had to make an ENTIRE new solution and copy paste the code over into it and recompile before i could continue. HUGE pain in the butt.

Thing with C languages and Java etc, is that being well written languages they promote good programming practices unlike VB. If you have ever used Borland Delphi (whatever version they are on now >.<) it's sort of like VB in that it's Visual you drag and drop and use pre-defined event handlers and do all of your coding in the UI layer which is really NOT where it should be. Using VS kind of makes other languages like that as well but it does support making libraries, so it's not killed programming completely yet >__> bleh. :P

But I'm sure Lantis will do well in his programming efforts despite all that. :D
