Yeah, I still haven't read them all yet... From the bottom of their mission list, I think I just past the one about the butler in the McDonald's bathroom.

Improv Everywhere is my hero now...

This is what I was refering too, the slower DSL. Obviously not 6MB/s or even 3MB/s. Since that is probably cheaper than AOL (assuming it's still $22 a month because people are dumb enough to keep paying it). Hell most dial up is still $10 a month. But I guess it does depend on your area as to whether they offer slower DSL at a comparable rate to dial-up.

Though I will admit around my area cheapest is $25/month for 256Kb/s (~ 5 times dial up speed). And most of the cheaper ones are in CA, WA, IL, and TX.

I don't know this internet isn't slow at all. Like if I can get a 700mb file in about 30 mins or less(depending on the websites host) its prety good. But yeah there are people dumb enough to trust AOl.

I wouldn't put any AOL software on my worst enemy's computer. The only way I use aim is through trillian, and that's just because some friends just won't let it go.

But yeah, I'm totally anti-aol.

Eh, I have no problem with AIM, just the program it originated from. Which is why I use trillian or something else. It's no worse than MSN or Yahoo IM, though those have more features. Even those have ads.

You know that AOL was sued a while back right? By Windows. Seems whenever you uninstalled AOL software, it took necessary registry files with uninstalling program. And it did a rane of things... sometimes you just couldn't use your web browser... reguardless of what changes you've made. Even when connecting it directly to broadband... you 404.

Other times your OS would slow down, worst case, crash. I've been a computer tech for a few years and I've seen this quite a few times. I can't trust AOL even with instant messaging... sorry.

Please, please tell me you don't use IE. You know the browser you can't uninstall cause it's part of the OS, and also keeps a record of everywhere you've ever been unless you know how to delete a certain folder and a corresponding file, but only in DOS mode, cause you can't touch it in Windows. So you really can't trust the almighty Windows either, but it is easier to use than Linux, so.

As for AOL I'm sure your computer crashed more just by having it installed. And lots of things latch on to IE (Yahoo toolbar anyone, you know the one that installs with everything, even stuff not from Yahoo). So while AOL might have pioneered such practices they're not the only ones anymore, and with Trillian you get none of their shenanigans (so no need to get a broom).

To Kittykicker: Well go find something to do :D. Possibly involving kicking cats. That can be non boring.

Actually I was using FireFox... but recently changed to Opera.

But reguardless of what I am using... most end-users use IE(within my comp tech experience). And that still validates everything I've said, up to par.

Very good sir, you fight the good fight :) (i.e. Not using IE, man I wish everyone didn't, then development of webpages would be so much easier).

Let's talk about what we are doing on the weekend since it's Friday and we all home for 2 days.

I'm not doing anything, maybe play some videogames and such but not really anything.

Have you heard of the recent (past month or so) updates for IE? OMG, the "click to activate this control" on EVERY web application within a web page... what was MS thinking?! Not to mention the Service Pack 2's function of Content blocked, click this bar to allow.... *sigh*

Oh, Facts.... did you say something... sorry

lol, just messing with you.
