I live by myself, pay $550 rent and only make (now) about $800 a month. And I have bills to pay, like cell phone, electric, and gas. The way I looked at it, the price I paid for the mag is one less pizza I can order, or dinner out, or a few meals that I eat out on my lunch break at work. And I do go to school as well, with no financial aid thus far. So yeah, I'm not rolling in dough either, but I thought it was important to get a piece of (RPG Mag) history. That's my piece.

I don't know how all these people are having trouble affording 10 dollars for the magazine...for me, the ad for 20 was a no-brainer.

I would be ordering two, but we can always share the one copy here. For whatever reason $10.00 seems a bit on the steep side as I can get a copy of Game Informer for $5.99 US Dollars, but for the amount of copies that would be going to print, I'm certain that $10 was a fair price, and probably the best that was found.

You also have to remember that some of us are students, some still live at home with our parents, and others have already left the nest. We are not all in the same boat as you are, but we do what we need to survive. If we don't take care of ourselves first, the mag won't be the same without us. I'm sure that $10 for a print copy or $10 to pay the cable or dsl bill so we can connect here could be the deciding factor.

This is a luxury that some can afford, and others may have to pass on.

Game Informer literally prints millions of copies. I calculated and it only costs them about a couple cents a copy. Then they sell it for $6. :p

I'm currently in no position to be spending money, so I was hesitant about spending it, even though it wasn't very expensive.

But it turns out I still had thirdy-some-odd dollars in my Paypal account from when I sold that Pichu inflatable to some professor in...Korea, I think it was?
True story.
