Well thats good. I have 2 of those.

Toriyama's been doing the art for all the Dragon Quest games. It's just a lot more apparent in DQ8 since it doesn't have all those super-deformed sprites that the rest of the games have.

It's also pretty apparent in Chrono Trigger. "Dream Team" was quite a fitting description.

Oh, it was rampid in Chrono Trigger...

Chrono = Goku
Marle = Chi-chi
Lucca = Bulma
Magus = Piccolo

(there are probably plenty more: enemies, sub character, ect)

None the less, Chrono Trigger is still my favorite game of all time.

I like the 2d ness of the Chrono trigger. Hated Chrono Cross.

Yep too many similarities for any game that Akira toriyama produces art for.

That's just his style, though, and I have no problem with him overusing it.

Get a walkthrough... It has alot of that Zelda-never-tell-you-the-next-place-to-go type of thing going at some times.

My next RPG purchase is going to be Suikoden Tactics.

I hate that Zelda thing. With straight-storyline games, it's the most annoying thing ever.

I recommending just getting the walkththrough as well. Save before you go off to anywhere and spend some time to level up. When you beat the game check out that secret that keeps you wondering what is that mysterious Gate.

The best way to survive is to take the time to battle monsters around each town for an hour or so in order to be able to afford the newest equipment. As annoying as that may sound, it's Dragon Quest tradition.

Best place to fight, but more annoying than fighting around town is close to the forest you have to take Prince Charmels (or whatever). The classic Metal Slimes are there. They drop more EXP than anything... but they run away quite quickly. Learn the Metal Slash ability on the Hero and Angelo to speed things up...

That's because they were called Dragon Warrior. They switched to "Quest" once Squaresoft and Enix merged.

Oh, thats a good reason why I never hurd about it before.

For those who don't know, it was always called Dragon Quest in Japan. But when Enix brought the series here, they named it the equally misleading-titled Dragon Warrior to avoid potential lawsuites due to a Dungeons & Dragons game being called Dragon Quest.

And yet Enix America wound up getting sued anyway (by Lucas Arts!) because they named a town in Dragon Warrior IV "Endo", resulting in us not getting the 5th and 6th games.

(Please note my facts may not be straight. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

Speaking of which Dragon Quest 5 has a PS2 remake that we're not getting because S-E doesn't think it'll sell well here. WHO CARES?! I STILL WANT IT!
