I know there's times when I want to play an RPG (or any game), but then change my mind because of how much time it would take to play it through.

I have a big gaming backlog because of that, too.

Do you find yourself impatient more nowadays?

Not really I like how much time consuming it is to play some video games like rpg's and others. The more time waste the more you'll have to look forward to.

I'm not impatient, I just play more MMOs now. So my time to play offline games is down.

I don't know if it has anything to do with my age, but I easily get bored with a game if it's not a really kick-arse type of game (Kingdom Hearts II, which I lost interest in only because I got to the Pirates level and decided to wait until I had a chance to show it off, only to show it off and be incredibly disappointed with the level).

The contrary, it's made me more patient. I'm in the middle of 10 or so RPGs that I still need to end. All of them are great games, though. The ones I can remember now:

Final Fantasy I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, X
Shin Megami Tensei
Seiken Densetsu 3
Treasure of the Rudras
Golden Sun: The Lost Age

And I find no problem in taking my time with all of them. With FF2 specially, I train so much that I have better stats in middle-game than needed to finish it =P

If the game's good, you look forward to spend time with it. (My FFX game is over 80 hours long...)

Getting older hasn't made me more impatient. I still love long RPGs with lots and lots of text and stuff. But when you start getting more responsabilites and stuff...
I tend up looking sometimes for games that are easy to pick up and play, and that I know I can turn off without worrying "but I have to save!"

I think its all about how much time someone has to devote to a game. Sometimes if important jobs and things come into your life you have less time for games.
I know when I was a kid I had lots of time. I really had nothing to worry about. Then I got my first job and started dating. I wanted to play. But other things got in the way. Now that I'm married no job and no kids. I have time to be a kid again :) But with all the bills/worrys of being an adult. :( As far as being impatient gos. My stress thats in my life does make me shy away from playing. I think thats why I spend so much time on the Mag. Talking to friends helps get rid of stress. Playing a good game you need to think alot. Its hard to think when you have so much on your mind already. So talking does help to empty the mind of problems. :) Then I go and play my game. :D
