You really shouldn't triple post, also there is a thread about ff7 advent children right here.

Do not triple post, as has been said in other posts.

For starters-
Join the f*ing boycott. :rockon

Final Fantasy 7 was the first game I ever got for my playstation, and i still have the same copy 9 years later. I still regard it as one of the best games ever made. When I heard they were making a movie, I thought, "Kick ass. An ff7 movie." Since there was a bit of a delay between the learning of the movie and it actually coming out I kinda stopped caring.

Then it came out. I couldn't buy because I didn't have any friggin money, but my friend bought it and said "Holy S**t, dude, you gotta f***ing see this! It's the best f***ing thing ever, motherf***er!" I was like sure, whatever.

What.
The.
Hell.

Who does square think we (nostalgic hardcore gamers) are? A bunch of 12 year olds who watch Dragon Ball Z, aparrently. Sure the graphics look great (It took me a while to figure out that the floaty particles were dust)(props to square graphics guys) and it WAS nice seeing my old favorite characters fleshed out in smooth high-res goodness (I was dissapointed at how uncool they made Reno, and Rude looks like Vin Diesel), but there ended the phase of me liking it. Seeing the old characters upgraded is one thing but the least they could do is put them in a story that is even an iota entertaining to watch.
Then theres the Bahamut fight. A classic example of a cool concept carried out in an uncool way. Sure everyone's fighting her, using their own specific talents (Cait Sith aside), but each character is able to summon powers and agility to a point where its not cool at all, but stupid in one of the worst ways. Its like CG DBZ but with characters you care(d) about.

I hate that movie. It sucks. Square sucks. Play Wild Arms.
Or if you want a decent video game movie, go see Silent Hill.
Damn it.

I think he hated the movie because he's an FF7 fanboy.

I hated the plot, everything looked good. It was another excuse for cloud to fight sephiroth.

I bet I'm gonna be incredibly disappointed with the FF5&6 ports. I'll have to deal with the FF5 port since I don't have Anthology, but I still have a copy of FF6 on the SNES.

I wasn't watching it for the plot, and the visuals delivered nicely.
It aches and pines for elongation.
And a slightly less effeminate voice for the antagonist would've been lovely.

Frankly, if we must delve deeper into FF plots, it saddens me that FF7 is chronically chosen.
It was wonderfully dramatic, and a peachy play, but I still found other titles to be far more immersive, and would be quite happy if somehow another game got to share in this limelight.

On the subject of FF7 additions, I still find myself salivating slightly at the new Dirge of Cerberus title.
Vincent is without a doubt the 'coolest' character in the series to date, though perhaps Auron is right up there with him, and I can only hope the genre transition doesn't mutilate the game...

Square has been in a hole recently.
I could see some of the coming titles lowering a ladder, however.

The battle system is just like Star ocean for the ps2. I never did beat Tales of Symphonia though :P

I liked the fighting and everything.. but the story line err if you can call it that was awful, i was hoping to actully see a larger amount of there life starting from where ff7 left off. I didn't like it all that much, in fact it was kinda boring me near the end but ff7 wasn't my favorite final fantasy anyways.

Back to the topic of the characters having unrealistic moves (dbz style) Seeing this happened after FF7, I'd assume they are just as strong as when the beat the game... assuming the takedown of Emerald and Ruby Weapon also took place (the would have reeked some havock within the two years in my humble opinion) the characters would have 9999 HP and rediculous stats... that said, it make sense that they would have alot better abilities that a common person who would have maybe 32 HP or whatever.

But that is all in theory if you really try to break it down as compared to the game....
