It's called Crimson Chaosfire, it's a traditional fantasy rpg. I know a lot of people will think that's boring, but I love traditional rpg style, to me it never gets old. It will feature:

- Boat battle system, along with the normal battle system
- Non random battles
- Freeroaming overworld map
- 200+ unique items
- Fishing system, better rods will give you better chance of success. You also need fishing bait to catch fish, and from there you can either sell then raw fish or cook them and use them to heal (with a chance of burning them)
- Magic crystal system, collect crystals and spend them on spells to customize your characters (example: 2 red crystals to learn flare, 6 to learn Inferno)
- Multiple dungeon crawls with puzzles, labyrinths and secrets
- Plenty of side quests and extra stuff to do
- I'm expecting about 7-10 hours of gameplay if you want to do everything

The story I guess is nothing special really so I won't reveal anything about it. But I didn't put zero effort in it. I mean, it's probably not original but it does have a few twists and turns. Look for it to come out sometime during the summer, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I think it sounds good. While I don't know if it can compare with other RPGM1 classics, the features don't sound bad. However, I'd like to hear your story. But, if you'd like to keep it under wraps for now, that's cool. :)

Well, the game is about 90% done now. It's coming along nicely, and I think it will be good.

Darn, I was hoping I'd be the third to release a game with a custom world map.

i like the features, expecially the boat battle system. It sounds like a coolfeature, will it be a major part of the game play or just a mini game?

BAD NEWS...

I finished the game but...
My memory card with the scenario decided to corrupt for some reason :(
It was an official white ps1 memory card too. brand new.
all 13 blocks of scenario.

The last backup I made on the dexdrive was 50 hours earlier. I'm probably not going to finish the game right now, but I will maybe post whatever I have right now. If anyone likes it I might finish it next summer after college.

WELL, here is the plot outline for anyone who was interested...

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

CRIMSON CHAOSFIRE PLOT OUTLINE

Prologue:
The humans and dragons have been at war for thousands of years... The Crimson Knights at Camelot castle
(the most important of the human kingdoms) have still not found king Chaosfire's secret lair. The
dragons are destroying villages left and right. King Griswold plans to train more Crimson Knights,
the finest knights in the human kingdoms, in order to defeat Chaosfire and his empire once and for all.

8. In the middle of the night, the party notices that Bern is gone and look for him

that Lancelot's assault was early, ill prepared and that they were losing

13. They encounter Inferno yet again, but this time he has help from technological upgrades
14. After silencing Inferno, the party arrives at the center of Chaosfire's lair and meets Chaosfire himself
15. Bern insists on taking him alone, but Veldrane doesn't allow it
16. Before attacking, Chaosfire informs the party of the true history of the war between humans and dragons

Ouch. I've felt that before. Except I didn't back my cards up, and ended up losing everything. I never did that again. I backup a lot now.

But I like how you divied up your game into parts. It helps the organization.

Just a couple of friendly words of advice:

With a game that long (and BTW, congrats on actually getting that far in the creation process, most people with games that big never finish), you have to make sure you're keeping the player's attention the whole time. If you see the story slowing down or lacking in a few areas, throw in some interesting gameplay elements or something. You just don't want to bore the player, and with a game that long (especially a traditional RPG), it's an easy trap to fall into. Also, with so many features like that, it can be hard to make the control or feel of the game not feel cumbersome. Make sure everything feels smooth- but most of all, fun. Anyways, good luck.

thts true but another thing is, is that to make thing intresting is a must in a long rpg. but randomly throwing in junk trying to get the players attention is often bad, think adhead about wat you want to put in. good luck :)
