The convention is over but a crappy subway connection has left me stranded. Bleh.

Day Zero: (Thursday)

I pick up my girlfriend from home and she spends the night, takes a shower, that sort of thing. I pack.

Day One: (Friday)

We get up at around 5 am to catch the train into Boston. We get there about 6 am. She want's a soda, but the RiteAid up the street from the station is closed. I tell her that we can get one on the train. We look around to make sure that where we parked was kosher, and it looked alright, so I locked the car up like fort knox, as it is surrounded by bars and Memorial Day weekend is comming up. (you do the math.) I ate a banana, and then the train came. Awesome sauce. We ate breakfast on the train and then talked for the rest of the ride. We got to Boston and we found a place to prepare for the Subway ride. My GF bought some tokens, but as I was in too much of a hurry to go through I accidentaly wasted one. After that, we missed our first stop, and so I had to pay to take the subway back there. We connected right this time (and I bought lots more tokens ), and then we were off to the convention! I was not even in the BUILDING 10 minutes and some body stopped me for a photo. I told them that I realy wasn't all dressed in my coustume, but now was as good a time as any to "fill out" (I had the shirt, boots, and overalls on, but not the hat or gloves, plus i was wearing a jean jacket), and so I gots mah picture took! The first of MANY. After that, we had to wait in line to register. It was a long line. I think the line of jews wandering out of egypt was shorter. It also made glaciers seem speedy. I met the first of the other Marios too, as he was RIGHT in front of us in line. Small world.
Anyway, he was dressed up as Fire Mario. He had a real moustach, but was skinny as a rail. his fire balls were well made though. I had some latex gloves as backups incase the ones I brought failed, and as he was lacking and said he did kind of want some I lent him a pair. Hey, us Mario's got to stick together. After we registered we kind of wandered around and learned the lay of the land. The vending room hadn't opened yet so, we checked out some of the other stuff. All the while people were stopping me to take my picture, and telling me how "I was the best Mario!"
it continued on like this all day. Around noon the vending room opened, and we poked around abit but as we were going to be there for 3 days, I figured that we could miss most of it for now and check out some of the other floors of the convention center. Not much going on so my GF and I decided to head to the Hotel, and check in. We made it there fine, and then after settling in partook of the Jacuzzi! (it felt REALY good after having to lugg around our shiznit all day. Then we swam in the pool. It was fun. After that we decided to stock up on provissions so we walked to the nearest store. It was 3 blocks away. Xp Well we got back and I made dinner (we got a suite that had a kitchenette); Steak, mashed potatoes and corn. after I did the dished not much was on, so we decided to bathe and call it a night. My GF is uncomfortable sleeping with other people, so I got the hidabed. It was ok, but the pillows there were crap. we got little sleep.

Day Two: (Saturday)

We got up and dressed, then we went down for the complemenary Continental breakfast buffet. IT WAS TEH ROXXORZ! they had waffles, that like, you could make yourself, and my GF said that they were yummy. (I didn't have one because I was too full after eating all the other extra yummy food. ) We left for the convention and made it there with out a hitch. More of the same, PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES. But I was taking some of my own. Plus I got to hug about a gazillion asian women with nice titties. Oh, yeah mario macks some serious tail : I bought a Toad doll that I used as a super mushroom for the rest of convention. it rocks. My GF was taking pictures of all the Gaians she met there. I made a passing comment about one of them that pissed her off, plus we were both getting bored, so we decided to go see a movie. I was givven shoddy directions (I should have known better, people from Massachsettes can't give reliable directions to their own asses, even if they had a map to show you,) so we ended up wandering around the west side of boston for about an hour getting decently lost. We gave up and went back to the hotel room, I made dinner, and then we got ready for the rave. We got to the rave early and as luck would have it my GF found some people she had been looking all weekend for. We went up to their room and hung out for a bit and then all went down to the rave. I busted groves out all over the place. Then we went to the game room and played some games, but by that time it was getting late and we decided to say our good byes. As it was truly late we had to catch a cab back to the hotel, as the subways had stoped running. I asked for more pillows at the front desk, and as such got a MUCH better night's sleep.

Day Three: (Sunday)

We woke up late, but it was early enough that we could catch breakfast.
After breakfast we packed up and checked out. This was my favorite day at the convention. I bought some more stuff, I walked around and hung out with all the other cosplayers, and of course got taken a picture of every 20 ft it seemed! We met up with the group we had hung out with the night before and went around as a group. After we were all suficieantly bored, we decided to FINALY go see a movie. We saw X-men 3.
A side note about the movie: It was a piss poor attempt to meld two different cannon story arcs into one. Namely, M-day, and The Rise of the Pheonix. Though, if you knew the story behind my SN, then you will understand when I say that I raised an eyebrow to the power of the Pheonix. If The Staffmaster were an actual Comic book character, she [the Pheonix] just might have been a bit too much jelly for me to handle. Owwie.
Anyway after the movie was done so was the Con, so we hung out in their hotel room untill an hour before we had to leave. A good time was had by all as we realy got to scocialize. We said our good byes, and then got on the subway to the train station. Here is where our wonderfull weekend ended unfourtunatley. You see the subway line we were on totaly dumped us 2 stations before the train station. We could connect to it though on other lines, but by the time we FINALY got to the train station our train had left. We went back to the hotel/convention center and the people we had met totaly were awesome and let us crash in thier room for the night.

Day Four: (Monday)

We got up and again thanked them perfuseley for their kindness, and then headed back to the train station. we actualy made it all the way this time and we were able to transfer the tickets back at no charge because it turns out that the Train Station and the subway lines were in cahoots, and so it was thier fault we missed our train. The train ride back was alright. But when we go back to my car, we found that the city had decided that that was a good place for a PARKING METER and as such I had $80 WORTH OF PARKING TICKETS!! Although, I must say, I was not terribly angry, as I could honestly see WHY they put it there. It was Memorial day weekend in Old Orcard Beach. Can you say TOURISTS!? Well, I promised my boss that I would work that day, but because of the subway cock up, I only ended up working half of that day. And my feet were KILLING ME. x________x

Well that's the story, though I should mention that when I went to pay the ticket today, I explained that there was no meter there when I parked, I was also in Boston all weekend, and that there were no signs saying I COULDEN'T park ther over night. The attendant discussed t wit hher superior, and then explained to me that DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY MY PARKING TICKETS!!!

Ok Ok, Now I got some thing for you all, while I have yet to devaleop my film, as i said lots of people took pictures of me and SURE ENOUGH at leat ONE has ended up on the web. And here it is. Staffy as Mario. Enjoy.

NOW FOR THE PICTURES! (I finaly got my film developed. Yeah I'm a lazy ass and brought a fun cam, but I hath not a digialt camera. Alas... )



Ok. This is the train platform in Old Orchard Beach where we caught the train. This is of course my GF. This camera shows just how much it sucks here, cause she's like WAY hotter in person. We sat there for 20 minutes and ate wonka chocolate donuts. They are these little ring shaped chocolates what have an amost Lindt quality about them. Plus they are covered in sprinkles.

While to the untraind eye it looks like chaos, observant persons will note that every layer of people seems to alternate direction, which means (THAT'S RIGHT KIDS!!) that this mass of humanity is actualy a LINE.
You ever see the "Cow Days" Episode of Southpark? Yeah. It was like that only WORSE. On to the next pic!!

This is also the line waitng for the vendor room to open. These two pics were taken 75 yards apart with in the space of 4 minutes. The lines at the start were killer. Fortunatly they died down after the first day when everything opened.



After we wandered around the con for a bit (like 6-ish hours) we needed to leave to go check in to our hotel. The subway ride was long we were tired and ready to kick back at the hotel for a bit. Anyway, this is the first thing I saw when I came out of the subway. I thought it was pretty so I took a picture of it. I have no idea who those peoples are in front of it, BTW. Just some dad and his kid, I guess. If you cant tell it is supposed to be an impresionistic sculpture of a globe, made out of bronze.



This is the hotel room. Or rooms I should say. The place was teh awesome sauce and it made me happy in my pants. It was basicaly an appartment that they chaged a nightly fee for. Best part for us thouhg was that WE DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. My GF's mom had like a bazillion Marriott reward points saved up from the past decade and a half of sci fi conventions, so the first night was totaly COMP'ED. (oh yeah... :thumbsup ) OH! and the most awesome part of all?...



It totaly had a kitchen. 8) I made dinner that night. It was yummy, and we saved on having to go to a resturant...well, except for lunch the first day...

This is the rave Saturday night. It rocked out. I busted out so many grooves that my groove buster broke. (I have since had it repaired.)
The DJ I was told was "awesome" but since this was like my first rave, I had to take their word for it. At least I had fun. It's a shame this photo didn't come out as planed because when i took it, there was like the realy cool ambiance vid playing on the projector screens. I was trying to capture it.

BTW, Yes. Peach Toadstool is, in fact a dude.
We had lots of photos take of us here. This is outside in a little garden that was adjacent to the Convention center and through a little mall at the base of the Prudential Tower. There were lots of Asian tourists in Boston that week end, and GUESS WHERE THEY ALL ENDED UP.
I now know it's true what they say about chinamen and cameras.



At this point, the convention was winding down and we were just hanging out in some-friends-we-had-met's hotel room. We ended up staying here the last night because we had missed our train and we'd already checked out of our OWN hotel room. yeah, it sucks, but at least we had a roof over our heads and someplace to crash.




This is just a posster i got for my sister. She likes anime and I thought that she would like this. I have no idea what its from; I only got it cause I thought it would look nice on her wall.



Now I'm just wasteing film. This is my new cat Sandy. I rolled him on to his back while he was sitting in my chair and he just stayed like that so I took his picture. ^___^
yah, he's a fat kitty. That fur in the top left behind him is his backfat. What was surprising about this though is that he actualy let me do it. Usualy when someone touches his belly, he wiggs out and attacks what ever body part is touching him. He didn't that time.



This is a picture of my (sort of kinda) new TV, and the greater environs of my room. Of note is the shelf the the TV is sitting on. I built it my self! *is proud* (I'm handy! Yay!) that sword is an actual rapeir, but it's more for decoration. It's very poorly made. I bought it for the ren faire last fall. Now it hangs there collecting dust, looking pretty, and remining me of the fun i had there.




And Finaly, this where the magic happens. If I had thouhgt about it before hand I would have tuned on my computer so that I could have the mag up and running but I was just in a hurry to use up the film so I didn't. OH WELL. Those are also real swords. While the bigger one probably wouldent make it through a bone, I quite positive that it would do a quite passable job of brutaly/fataly maimeing you. The smaller sword actualy holds an edge and it WILL take your head off. I used it on som reeds out behind my house once and I like totaly wiped them out.

I think I need to destroy my Princess peach collection. Either way the pics look good.

You know, there seems to be a distinct lack of intrest in my adventures. >_>

I think people are just a little busy. Even I am.

But awesome pictures, btw. "Princess" Peach is hot.
