Heh. The Wii definitely has been in the lead from our POV. I think I posted this earlier, but I was on another board some place and I suggested that Nintendo would surprise us all and take the lead after the GameCube had fallen behind -- I was flammed for a while, and now after the great showing the Wii has had, everyone's of my opinion now.

I am the ultimate Nintendo fan. Been one since the NES days. I've stayed with them through the dark times (N64-GC). I'm glad to see them back on top.

I say Nintendo/MS take this next gen.

It looks like the Wii will be taking the lead of the next gen systems. Myself? I'm a huge Sony fan, ever since the PSone. Of course, after hearing the enormous price of the PS3, I was a little disappointed... and I also have been a little underwhelmed about PS3's selection other than MGS3.

I'm probably going to forget about the PS3 and instead get a Wii.

I've always been with Nintendo, though I've also had PSone, and own PS2 and Xbox. Personally, I don't really consider the GameCube as part of the dark times. I think they were playing with the dimmer switch this generation, 'cause they sure did better with it than on N64. Except with Mario Sunshine. Mario should not be a scavenger hunt character. It was okay with Mario 64, as they were trying something new, but they should've thought up something better with Sunshine. (Though, at least you could ride Yoshi, except Yoshis melt in the water in that game.) I'm hoping Mario Galaxy gets closer to the Mario roots. I heard the E3 stage was linear progression, yet it ended with getting a star. I hope that each stage only has one star, and the star happens to be the "goal box" or "goal strip" of Galaxy.

I think Wii took the gold.

The ps3 was good but the presentation wasn't all that good. But they did have some good games. The wii can only kick so much as in a little time, the games are great but I'm disappointed from red steel. As for the x box 360, halo 3 sounds exciting but its a fps so I won't get started there. Gears of war was impressive, very original and pretty.

Gears of War does look good, I'll admit it, but I was really looking forward to it back when it was slated for the 360 release line-up, only to find it wasn't going to be released for pretty much a whole other year.

The PS3 specs are extremely impressive, the best out there, but I'd rather take a less powerful Wii.

Specs mean nothing to me. I don't care how much power a system has. Everything looks cool until something cooler-looking comes out a year or two later. I want a system that can play games and play them good.

Just because it looks good doesn't mean its fun, super mario bros series can show you that. But then again some people have dreams like others and want other people to see their dreams come to life.

Graphics don't make a game, and not necessarily a power. Hm... how do I put it... Graphics help a game, but they don't make a game.

I'd rather take Super Mario Bros. for the SNES over some cheap PS2 games with great graphics.

Keeping in mind that every system has had their share of crappy games. I'm just not interested in most of the PS2 games, and it being "PlayStation" and having uber-graphics isn't going to get me to buy it real soon like it might with other people.

Even the game cube and the x box have crappy games. Also mario is the biggest whore that I've ever seen. Instead of making a ddr mario or a basket ball mario they should've made a mario game teamed up with link from zelda.

Yes, they are overdoing it with the Mario sports titles. Tennis and Golf were good enough.

Yeah but if they make mario kart underground well someone shouldn't be coming up with ideas for mario anymore.
