Well, E32006 had come and gone, and here's how it basically sums up for me:

Pre-E3: What the hell is Nintendo doing, calling their system "Wii". What a horrible name. I just don't know about this name...

Night before E3: Well, "Wii" isn't too bad. I don't even care anymore.

Nintendo's conference: "OH MY GOD HOLY SPIT I WILL SHOUT "WII" FROM THE MOUNTAINTOPS!!"

Two days later: "Smash Brothers Brawl? Fire Emblem Wii? Pheonix Wright 2? Super Mario Galaxy? Yoshi's MOTHERFRACKING Island 2? Star Fox DS? Metroid Prime 3? Zelda: Twilight Princess? *faints from loss of breath*"

And here I am today, with a giant boner for Nintendo.

I'm disappointed that Red Steel wasn't up to snuff yet, but they still have 5 months, so get busy.

I was really impressed by the Wii, despite the fact that I liked the word "Revolution" better. Why'd they change it to a Wii, btw? What's it stand for?

Anyways, as far as PS3 and the 360 goes, I was disappointed. I really hoped for more games, more variety, better story and gameplay.

No, I do not want Scarface.

No, I do not want another First Person Shooter.

No, I do not want another Sports game.

Wii's the only system that would get me what I wanted. The Super Smash Bros. games were always excellent in the past - I remember the first one for my N64 that I keep and still play. Fire Emblem looks awesome, I'm a huge fan of the series.

And 100% backwards compatability? (does it go back to NES? Help me out here, Ix) Awesome, I'm in.

I was looking for great games on the PS3 and the 360, and found nothing but rehashes of old and tried video games. I really wish the PS3 and 360 would come up with something fresh and new. The only great games for the PS3 and 360 were 1) MGS4 for the PS3, and 2) Fable 2 for the 360. Okay. And Valkyre Profile: Silmeria, that rocks - actually, that's my number one most wanted game.

Other than that, I was disappointed in Sony. Wii really took the cake.

Go Wii!

Scarface is a must have for me, its not a recreation of the movie either. MGS4, God of war2, Super smash Brawl, and too many others. Even though the prices of the consoles are always high they want you to wait until the price drops as usual so they can make more money.

It goes all the way back to the NES, but what games are available depends on what games they decide to put up for download. There isn't a port to stick your old NES and SNES games in. Luckily, there aren't too many pre-GameCube games where being unable to use your old information is the end of the world. There's no open-ended Morrowind-type games, and only a few Strategy/Tactical RPGs. There is Blast Corps, though. Too bad that's one of Rare's never-gonna-find-its-way-to-Virtual-Console games.

Ah. But it can run GameCube games fine, right?

I heard something about the Wii, being hooked up to the internet, can download new game files as you sleep, or something like that.

True, but I was referring to the actual GameCube disc - I saw a picture of the Wii and it showed both a Wii new-style disc as well as the GameCube disc going into the Wii - in fact I think it was in one of Ix's posts somewhere on these boards.

While there is backwards compatability, I didn't know if it you could play GameCube games without downloading them (I.E. stick the GameCube disc in the machine).[/quote]

Yep, I mentioned it here:

http://www.rpgmmag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1833

However, for everything NES-N64, you download. You have to buy Gamecube discs, I believe. Or at least, I hadn't heard about downloading them.

I don't think anybody has the interenet connection necessary to download a GameCube game. Or the memory. I'm pretty sure there isn't a single GameCube game that would fit within the basic 512MB constraints.

well they could use torrents and such to download the gamecube game. I'm still wondering about the wii though, since you have to pay for the old games will someone figure out a way to dump roms into the wii.

Ugh. Maybe they'll do something like Microsoft and come up with something like an XBox Live interface where you choose what you want and pay for it before downloading. If so... I ain't downloadin'.

Games on the Virtual Console aren't supposed to be expensive, though, with the exception of the larger SNES and N64 games (maybe those reaching $25). But they're also supposed to be allowing for one option where you pay a monthly fee and download and play as many games as you want, though I'm not sure how exactly that would work. But if it's cheap enough, it would be a good deal since the majority of pre-N64 games are short enough to finish in a weekend or less.

Well for the download and play method they would probably do something like gametap except its stored onto the wii instead of having it streamed through it. The 64 games may go down 10.00 or less there are no gurantee's or prices at this moment. I wonder if you could play all of the nintendo's roms and n64 roms. Like the UK games and Japan's.

I'm sure each region will have their own database to sort through, but I'm also sure some Japan-only games will wind up with english translations. "Earthbound Zero", anyone?

Vonwert is awesome.

But I've only heard of one of those games (Dead Rising). I'm looking forward to BulletWitch if it gets a graphical facelift.

You should try some of the armored core series, Ix. It's nice, it's not like Zone of the Enders, but it's nice none the less.
