I liked xenosaga a lot for its futuristic time, i always like games like that in rpg's, It seemed like a movie to me because it had a lot of cutsenes in it which i also loved.

Most people prefer to play their games.

I haven't played it myself, but I assume that they could've easily fit some gameplay in those scenes (unless it was a half-hour of them standing in one spot chatting). To my understanding, it's quite rediculous.

Xenosaga was pretty good, but had a lot of cutscenes. Still, that's no big complaint coming from me - I actually like a lot of story. Of course, Xenosaga II didn't quite live up to it's predecessor's expectations.

Then again, Xenogears, the first one (which is, Chronologically, the last one) is still the best of the series, IMO (it was also the first game to actually feature nudity, without a rating mentioning it).

Yep, I've just recently played though Xenosaga II. Which was really good. It has just as many scenes as Xenosaga. The only quom I had was the changed battle system. They didn't have near as many cool moves as they did in the previous one. They did, however, incorperate double tech.... just like Chrono Trigger (the best RPG of all time) but they were about as easy to do as a summon spell in Chrono Cross (which wasn't very easy).

But here's some bad news. I've heard through the grape vine (wikipedia, and some other sites) that there was a dispute within the company making the Xenosagas and they will not be making a fourth game. Which sucks because the fourth one was the one I wanted to play over any other. It would have been the one that liked everything that has happend to Xenogears, which is better than either Xenosaga. But I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that they get their shiz straight and finished what they have started.

Woaw, they're actually considering not producing the 4th entry (Xenosaga III)? That stinks -- I heard that they were probably going to head back to the battle system they had in Xenosaga (I). And that KOS-MOS was going to make a return as an enemy. Do you have any links to an official article?

From what I hear they will be makeing the forth game (Xenosaga III) but not the final one that bridges Saga to Gears.

That's the article which states:

"Currently in development, Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra will be the final title in the Xenosaga series, effectively cutting the initial projection of the series in half."

Well that stinks.

This I know.... I feel deprived. Now the only way we will find out how Xenogears connects to Xenosaga is through cheap fan fics....

Does having only two games count as being a series? (not including lower platform installments)

If I had to say the best series, I'd say Breath of Fire... that is if Final Fantasy isn't an option.

But the best single RPG of all time (in my opinion) is still Chrono Trigger.

Oh, the keyword was "compared." I know a ton of people ho don't have a clue about hentai or ecchi. Then again, anime and manga is, thankfully, becomming more popular here in the US. Why, back in my days, only had 2 series of manga in the book stores! And we liked it! If you didn't like it, you'd have to deal with it, because that's all there was!

Two games... I don't know if that's a series. Maybe if they're chronologically related, I guess 2 can be. Then again, the Xenogears series includes Xenogears, Xenosaga I and II, in case you were referring to that.
