My capture thingy can make .wma files.

I had no idea any interest existed.

It says it can make CD Quality sound... I'll play around tomorrow.

If I can make anything worthy I'll post it here.

Well, it's certainly of a higher quality than the MIDIs people send to places like vgmusic.com. It might be my sound card, but it sounds kinda like it's being recorded with a mic outside of the TV, rather than direct-feed. Still good, though.

RPGM2 does have great music, and a lot of it. If it were to come out on a commercial soundtrack, it would easily be 3 CDs long.

Yeah, it does sound like Draygone described, but I like it myself. If you have the time, I have the server space. :p

All I'd need to do is write one script that starts some music, waits a few minutes, then changes the music and repeats for the whole list.

It would take ten minutes and I could start the capture and walk away.

How big can the file be?

If it is everything it may be HUGE!

I think about 3 minutes of each song would do it, but at about 1 megabyte per minute and a half (based on the demo I made) we could run into a Gigabyte sized file!!

I'll come up with something...

Maybe one file for each music type (Explore, Town, Battle, etc).

I'll try that and post something.

Peace.

Here is the first batch:

Explore music

http://s49.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3M15 ... ACKJ2OEQP2

I went with 3 and a half minutes per track.

Perhaps a mistake.

The files is hugenessing!

148 MB only lost 1 MB in Compression!!

I used the Windows Media Encoder to encode it "For "Download" and it dropped to 57 MB.

That's all I gots time for today.

I realized I never played with the fade music controls and could not hear it while it was capturing (double pass encoding for maximum whateverness) so I did not notice the sudden cut offs... Sorry.

The next batch will fade slowly over a few seconds between tracks instead of just stopping like that!

Anyway; if you can download it, Enjoy!

I'll post more tomorrow or later today if I have time.

Hmm...how long do the tracks go for until it starts to loop? I haven't heard any of them yet, so I can't tell.

How much music is left, btw?

PS. The music sample sounds a whole lot better now. :)

They vary in length, but none go more than about 3 minutes before looping.

If anyone has the lengths I can set the wait commands properly!

Anyway, here are the other two files I encoded.

Town Music
http://s65.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3U1Y ... 7D82X7WGCB

Castle Music
http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1VK0 ... M7NRGZBVIV

More next time...

Oops... I missed a question!

Sorry, doing too many things at once.

There are, in total:

7 Explore tunes

6 Town tunes

8 Castle tunes

6 Battle Tunes

6 Boss tunes

10 Theme tunes

6 Mellow tunes

5 Dungeon tunes

9 Home tunes

4 Village tunes

Plus 1 "Opening" and 1 "Closing" tune.

68 tunes in total.

After I finish the default stuff I plan a file of my own pitch and tempo variations as well as a file of some of the better custom music from various people's games.

Tetris, Paladin, Spirit Saga, and more come to mind.

I need to get permission first, of course, but I doubt there will be any problems there.

And here are some more!

Battle:
http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0MN2 ... KDPEP92VGX

Boss:
http://s53.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3RXI ... AQZTU1HXTI

These are 2 minutes per track... it seems they are shorter loops!

More after lunch (yes, it's lunchtime here in Rodak Land where we get up at 2 AM!).

Peace.
