Here is a 15 year old piece of stop motion animation.

It's a hobby.

This one is the parody I did of The Incredible Hulk 1960's cartoon opening credits using stuffed Cows. All my stop motion uses Stuffed Cows. I don't understand why either, so don't ask.

The visuals closely follow the original and the theme song is original.

It is a 9Mb file in a 4.2 Mb folder.

Should be OK for those slower modems out there.

Hope you like it.

Or hate it.

As long as you're not indifferent to it!

Oh yeah, that 's a temporary link. If it expires and you want it renewed, Just post here!

Peace.

Thanks!

I'll look into those sites.

The animation was done on a full sized VHS Camcorder.

It was a nightmare.

But I was determined...

I'm digitizing the tapes for archiving, so I can post a bunch of these ranging from 30 second skits to a 3 and a half minute (my "one" key isn't working [exclamation point]) pro wrestling parody (Hulk Holstein vs Bessy) and a Monster Fight.

I got into this a little too much.

Peace.

Well, thanks!

It's always nice to show this stuff to new people and get reactions.

I'll have to post another!

Here's a favorite.

It was only a matter of time before you started posting these here. The Pav's had a monopoly on these videos so far.

Again, thanx!

There was never a monopoloy at the Pavilion, it's just that fewer people see Doan's site. Plus, there is no art forum there, so it's buried in another.

But those were posted as they were digitized. This time the work is done and I can post one every couple days without having to "render" them into mpg files (time consuming!).

And Taizon: I looked in to the linked to hosting service and their pop ups made it through my filters, so they're out. I'm paranoid and worry about what else might be happenning...

I'll look into the other next.

It's a shame mpgs eat so much bandwidth. I have crashed several free sites trying to host these.

Oh well...

Peace.

Watch for the little deer in the lower right who comes in for a drink but gets eaten by a cave monster.

It's amazing the things you can miss if you pay too much attention to cows!

Peace.

For descriptions of any of the above, just back track through this thread!

The NASA one has a great story and has not been posted here before, so...

My sanity was questioned when I made this one. And it has a nice story to it.

I decided it would be a great idea to go to NASA's Goddard Space Center (only a 2 hour ride from home at the time) with a pile of stuffed cows, and my camera, and do some stop motion in the Rocket Park.

I never claimed to be sane.

Nobody'd believe me anyway.

I stopped in the gift shop on my way to the Rocket Park and saw two Teddy Bears wearing blue NASA jumpsuits. So I bought them and headed for the park.

So, there I am with my camera all set up on a tripod and this big back sack full of cows (I needed a bunch to choose from because I was not sure what I was going to do until I got there) trying to find two cows who would fit in the jumpsuits when this security guard asks me what I'm doing.

He was confused, but left me alone.

So I set up this thing where I would pan around the park, and end up with the camera pointing at the base of a rocket with the two Teddy Bears on guard.

Then The cows would jump them and take over.

I'm in the middle of this when a woman with a young child asked me what I was doing.

I explained about stop motion and the general plot of the thing I was creating. She was genuinely interested.

Then she asked me what "They" were going to do with it. I told her I did not understand.

She wanted to know why NASA would film such a thing.

I told her that I was just doing this for fun. It's a hobby.

A look of terror came over her face, She grabbed her child by the hand and left very quickly to the sound of me laughing hysterically at her actions.

That story makes the mediocrity of the clip less bothersome to me. In fact it is one of my favorites. Not because it is any good, but because of that story.

It's another piece without a soundtrack. I never did make one for this, although I let it run a little long because after the animation ends I speak a line of explanation of what just happened.

I am double posting for a major announcement!

I learned how to do this:

<table border="0" bgcolor="ffffff" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><embed src="http://vfxguide.tripod.com/moovys/cowvseye.wmv" AutoStart=0 ShowStatusBar=1 volume=-1 HEIGHT=308 WIDTH=320></embed></td></tr></table>

I'm celebrating with my Masterpiece: The Stuffed Cow vs The Feathery Eyeball Thing From HELL!

Ixion (or Other Moderators):

If this is naughty, feel free to edit it out! I don't know if this counts against your bandwidth or mine (or both!).

I was just curious if it would work!</b>

Hahah. The screams were the best. :lol

The embedded video code, I see. It's quite alright to use and it does come out of your own bandwidth. So you have the green flag from me. ;)

The video was decidedly more blurry than usual...

Thanks for the information about Bandwidth (and the OK!), Ixion.

The blurryness is due to "Universal" compression / decompression (codec! I finally learned wat that means!!).

I have a perfectly clear mpg file, but being a 4 minute video it is a huge file and this seemed the best way to share it.

If you have a high speed connection and want the clear mpg file, I'll gladly post it via yousendit.com and it can be yours! It's a 35 megabyte compressed folder with an 80 megabyte file inside!

The compressed (blurry, but formatted for "Streaming") version is only 3 megabytes!

I prefer the clear version, naturally, but with the huge files this way seemed better. I had some complaints about file size with some of the "normal" ones!

I'm curious... I doubt this will work for MAC users (as the streaming format is .wmv (windows movie file) and therefore most likely not MAC friendly). Can anyone with a MAC tell me if this works for them?

And if not what would I need to do to make it so?

This code may just get worked into the VFX Editor Guide! (click the link in my signature) (Another Shameless Plug!)

The animated gif files are nice, but this is better. I just don't want to leave MAC users out of the full splendor of The VFX Guide!

Peace.

<><><>
EDIT:
<><><>

WOWZY!!

You can use the speed buttons to increase the playback speed and make my animation look better! (In my browser at least)

It kills the sound (1 click up on the speed is still listenable, but if you speed it up enough to look good... hit your mute button or turn the volume to zero!).

I have a page of these with an independent host:

http://www.vidilife.com/index.cfm?f=med ... rID=357060

Sorry if that stretches out the table... I just hate blind links and rarely click them myself!

More peace.

I've got high-speed, so the clear version wouldn't hurt me too much. (Took me a minute to realize that the cow had started eating the eye when I first heard the munching sound, and not the other way around.)
