My main internet computer is a Hewlett Packard...

ummm...

Dare I say it?

A Hewlett Packard Pavilion.

There, I said it.

Ironic, Huh?

It uses Windows ME.

I have a better one for making the videos and it is rarely online except to upload the work.

That is an e Machines running Windows XP.

Peace.

Oooh, I've been working on my custom build for half a year now. I'll take a pic and let you see it. It rocks!

3.0 Ghz pentium 4 proccessor
2 SATA (alot better than IDE) western digital hard drives (a 80 gig and a 160 gig)
A sony DVD+-/RW+- and lightscribe
intel motherboard with ddr4 and sata support
1 gig of DUAL SINK corsair RAM
550 wat thermal take powersuply
256 Meg GeForce Invidia video card (pci express)
XP Pro Corporate edition w/ SP2
Wireless keyboard and mouse
and a 19 inch flatscreen monitor

My case is a X-infinity aspire with plexyglass side panel which has led fans and a front pannel door which had gauges that tell me how much sound i'm putting out. Another which tells me the temperature inside my case. And anther which tells me my proccessor fan speeds.

Oh and my mounted speakers though logictech, rock! I don't have too many friends around my place who appreciate computers as much as you guys would, so I want to show off. 8)

I threw this thing's sheet some time ago, so I can't give exact specifics. I had it custom built though, specifically to meet the recommended specifications for World of Warcraft and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. So, it has slightly more power than what those recommend.

Along with that, it has Windows XP, a DVD player (which finally let me watch that copy of Robin Hood Men in Tights I got as a b-day present last year, which my family imported from the UK not knowing about territorial lockouts; I had thought it was a joke when my sister said they got it from England, considering the movie), and a 17-inch monitor (which means 1024 x 768 resolution or higher; couldn't do that with a 15-inch monitor without the text looking too tiny for me; I won't go higher than 1024 x 768, as it's both rediculous and would once again make the text look tiny). It also came with a few interesting programs installed, one of which seems to be able to burn CDs/DVDs, except I don't think this thing has a burner on it.

I ... am not sure... actually. Its some computer that my uncle prolly custom build knowing him (he gave it to me eh)
I have dual montior capabilities! XD now i just need another monitor >.<
I have a P3 and I can never remember what speed that is. 320 MB SDRAM. Burner (that lone gave me cus it was a random extra one) ^.^
7GB and 200GB ... only 12GB free at the moment >.<
Windows 2000 Professional (and damn proud of it)

generally most of your computers are better than mine... but I still have performance coming out of my performance - especially considering i leave it on ALL the time and am always downloading stuff and then have photoshop open ALL the time (justminize it) AND THEN i watch vids at the same time and they all run just fine.

I'm thinking of putting together this motherbeast:
(koko helped.)

16X DVD+-RW 16X Dual Layer Writer
52x Liteon cdrw
1 40gb samsung IDE
2 250GB SATA (one in enclosure)
1GB DDR ram
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (1.8ghz)
(Im not really going for gaming but hey - its cheaper..)
the exact name and sh*t of the motherboard:
ASUS A8N-E Motherboard ATX S939 NFORCE4 Ultra DDR PCI-E16 PCI-E4 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA RAID Sound GBLAN
geforce 6600gt 128mb video card

it'll run me about $1000 apparently. pretty much exactly what I was expecting to spend.

yumyum.

The computer I'm using right now has DSL internet access. My own computer doesn't (I'm in the process of purchasing a good wireless PC router).

This computer is a Hewlett Packard Pavillion.
Windows ME, with a 27.9 GB hard drive.
It's got a standard video card, and a standard sound card.
It's pretty good, it gets the job done, but it's getting
awfully slow. It does have a good Firewall, Anti-Virus,
and Spyware equipment. That doesn't make it to fast.

My computer's much better. It's an E machine, but before
you panic, this is no ordinary E-machine.
It broke down a year ago, but it's been repaired
an supped up.
It's got over a hundred GB heard drive,
has a really advanced sound card and big speakers (I
don't know the specs), has a standard video chip (I don't
mind it, I don't play games on my PC, and it looks just
fine with everything I do play on it).
It's got a Pentium 3 Processor, but at the time it was
repaired and upgraded, Pentium 3 was the best there
was (it was just before the P4 came out). It doesn't
have some cruddy Centriuno Processor or anything like
that.
It's got some really cool features, CD burner, DVD
burner, and I have absolutely no trouble.
It does have Windows ME, but it runs almost as good as
an iMac.
Anyways, yeah. It rocks.
I also program with it, and it always runs without
run-time errors (something both a programmer and the
windows sometimes struggle with).
It's also open to all additions, as opposed to a lot of the
HP computers.
And did I mention it runs absolutely everything blistering
fast?

Still, it's not as good as my Brother's Mac, and all PCs with
a Windows Operator (even the new XP) still have the problem
with resources, which is something I absolutely cannot
stand. An iMac can run 100 different multi-thread tasks and
programs at once, and run with 80% free RAM. An windows can
run 19, and only have 30% free.
I'd trade my Upgrade E-machine for a G3 iMac any day (but not
the G4, their internal virus protection is faulty).

^ with as much effort you put into making the lowest line of computers up to par... you could make yourself a system that could beat the snot out of ANY imac. A custom build will outlast anything from a standard company (Dell, HP, IBM, E-machine, ect...)

If you do the work yourself then I highly recomend this site:

www.xoxide.com

I built a system that rocks (muwhahah, better than anything posted yet) from parts that I mostly got from this site. You should check it out... bring out the inner geek.... and, stuff...

^ lmao
I'll have to check that out.
BTW, have you seen the new DELL PC which was abvertised in Game Informer? If you happen to see the March edition of GI (I think it came out in February, you know how they are), it will have an article about the new DELL high-performance machine. It's got a ton of GB, tons of power, really high tec. video and sound, and everything. It's really neat.

It even runs on a gasoline carborated engine.

(Just kidding about that last part.)

It's said to be the most high tec. machine there is, and it's made exclusively for PC gaming. It also runs regular programs, as well, such as Windows XP operator, and so on; but it's main attraction rests solely on it's gaming performance.
