I played it for 2 weeks.

I was optimistic at first. Hey, people say this is a good game. So I play... combat system sucks. Not really that realtime. Okay... try to overlook it...

Map designs are boring... spent hours leveling and didn't even get to level 10. I'm not that social of and MMORPGer. You need a party if you want to even LEVEL on FFXI decently.

It was one major level grind. As most MMORPGs are. But at least other MMORPGs make it fun. FFXI was one of the most crap experiences of my life. I regret spending $30 on the game disc.

I hear WoW is better, but I'm so dashed by FFXI I won't even try it now.

Actually, a person I know from Anime Club IMed me last night and asked if I still played FFXI. Turns out all of his friends quit from being dulled out.

It's not my cup of tea. At all.

Hmmmm....I'd rather be a Phoenix Pinnion...they're rarer.

Damn square....damn them.

I want it badly...I NEED a good game...I've beaten the lunars so many times-I don't have anything to do at night anymore. I need a new RPG-and FF12 is set for August 8th...*growls and falls asleep*

I love FFXI. My highest job is my level 24 Red Mage. I have the Japanese version of Advent Children. Nyeah! :P

Speaking of Advent Children.... That movie ROCKED HARD. At first I was literalizing how their moves were totally unrealistic... but what do you expect from someone who has 9999 HP. I mean, if you think about it. Tifa was walking hand in hand with Marlene.... If she had near 10,000 HP wouldn't she pretty much crush every last bone in Marlene's hand? Oh well, the movie rocked!

Anyway, back to the topic. I love Squaresoft. Enix was okay, but didn't come out with anything THAT great. I'd have to say my favorite Enix title was Illusion of Gaia, but that came out quite a while ago. But you have to look at it as if the glass was half full. Enix is getting better! Dragon quest 8 was an improvment from any of the other past installments. Right?

I atest that Dragon Quest 8 was only better than the others because of Square influences...but I don't mean to degrade the others as I own, and enjoy, them as well...this one was better though.

Yeah its a good game inspired by dragon ball z. But the battle system for ff12 is better than the rest in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure that DQ8 would've wound up being about the same as it did now even if they hadn't merged. Biggest difference would be the title. Without Square, it probably would've been called Dragon Warrior 8 here, and without the subtitle.

Speaking of which, according to Wikipedia, every Dragon Quest game past the first has had a subtitle. We've been getting jipped more than just changing a word in the name.
