Well, I don't really want to-I'd hate to delay FF12 EVEN MORE. This is the game I have been dreaming of for 4 years and it's been pushed AGAIN. It was already in 2006, now it's in Late 2006-possibly post PS3 launch (there's even talk of reworking it for PS3 within the company).

And not to mention, Kingdom Hearts 2 being shoved into next year as well.

Though...I suppose that I should be grateful: they are only perfecting their masterpieces. They pushed back KH2 to put in the worlds of Tron, so I look as it as a plus-the more worlds the better.

But still...It sucks on several levels.
Or maybe I'm just getting overly anxious...anyone else feeling it? (or anyone have contrasting info.?)

I've hated Square-Enix since day one.

f*ck, I hate Enix.. it's not Squaresoft that is the problem in my eyes, I really love Squaresoft.. all my favorites are Square games.. Enix just plain makes shittyass games and ever since the two of them joined, Square-Enix has been a money-hungry graphics-crazy piece of sh*t that has done nothing but make games with little to no actual good acceptable storyline to them.

The end.

I don't really care, as long as they put out nice games.

Being in the biz is tough when you have so many fans.

Plus, Oot got delayed and delayed but yet- quality over quanity. I still play Oot.

The only company I dislike is Microsoft, for pushing the same mediocre FPS over and over.

*eheheheheheheeeeeeeeeeeheheheheeheeeh* BOOM!

and then you get bored of halo.

microsoft are NO GOOD AT CONSOLES, the X-box being a retarded pc. also, the micosoft brand of insanely limited rpg/hack/boring style of games, that began with Fable and was then repeated in... gosh, every other game since. im not so fond of Microsoft.

Also, i share Reki's hatred of Square-Enix, and treasure FFVII like a rare orchid among the stagnant pool of rpgs.

I relish in RPG's, I devour them and find new ones. This is a flawed process in that it is veritably a 'stagnant pool' of imitating blighters who should have their games donated to a skeet shooting range. This of course means I own all the FFs (even the mediocritous X-2 but that topic is for another time), I own the Lunars (a must), but I find the best RPG's came from PS1. PS2 spawned the pool and the only truly brilliant RPG for PS2 is FF-X and that is because it is one of the Divine (and as people pointed out it predated Square-Enix) games. But by nature I am picky with games. I play only what appeals wholly to me, though true enough this is partially due to the fact that I'm poor as a summer rain. I have sampled only what is both critically aclaimed and time tested, making me limited.

But if this is so then it means great waits for the Titans of our era, and though it is always reciprocated ten-full I become bored with games and slightly anxious (esspecially this tortorous 5 year wait) during gaps. But I manage and enjoy when I can. Though RM helps me through.

And I'll stop it there. Let me just say, :lol As far as I can tell, Enix never really cared all too much about making tons 'o money, and until the merging, Enix never pushed for eye-candy games, especially when it came to their Dragon Quest series. Thus, your point is entirely m00t.

And you're just plain mentally slow if you haven't tried DQVIII. In my eyes, that game is pretty damn good. I played the demo.

And I saw the FFXII demo at my anime all-nighter last night. The FIRST summon creature(which are referred to as espers again, and this was a new creature), holy cow. Beautiful summoning, the new battle system is awesome(it makes you think fast), and the environments of the game are beautiful. The graphics seriously look pushed to the limit considering it's on the PS2.

The thing is, Squeenix makes huge RPG fares, so they take awhile to complete.

Moot point means debatable point, not wrong or pointless. Maybe pointless to argue because of the number of possibilities. It also means irrelevant.

And I'd say there's not alot of possible outcomes with this, Enix was pretty lazy in graphics and they probably wouldn't of gotten very far if they hadn't had someone with a good head on there shoulders in the story department (proven by DQ's great stories).

And I agree with lone in that I am unhappy with Enix, though they never put enough time into a game for it to make money or look good until they joined Square so I'm not gonna call them greedy, nor the merger horrible (even though X-2 was not all that encouraging) until I have had a chance to play FF12
*glares jealously at Fayorei*
,and KH2.

But if what she was saying holds true for all of us then I would find it ultimately to be a succesful merger, and even if I think it unnecessary on Square's part-I do not know their reasons.

Sorry to say, but FFXII has a good chance at sucking, I picked up Dragon Quest 8 (best RPG in years.) and it came with a FFXII demo, the battle system sucks, I hate to say it. Its just like FFXI's battle system, but that worked because it was online. I dont want that for a single player experience. I am sure it will have a great story, except I dont want to dread through the gameplay just for the story. I did not find it to be fun at all.

I'm going to try to be open-minded on FFXII. Really openminded. To me, it felt kind of FFX-2ish as well, with how the characters ran up to the monster and the pace of battle, not turn wise. I don't think enough of the game has been released yet to say 100% the system won't work.

Another thing is the fact that people are afraid of change. I'm sure some FF fans out there were pretty twisted up about FFVII being in 3D instead of 2D and being on the Playstation instead of the N64.

I remember the Nintendo/Sony switch and at the time I was appalled.

But I'm gonna HOPE fay is right on this one....
I never did play XI though, no money-so that tells me nothing about the combat system.

And when it comes to FF demos, I don't play them-they only tease and they ruin parts of the game for me in it's development story wise and transition wise.

So I'm just gonna have to wait....ahhh....

A lot of people are complaining having played after the demo.

I don't see why though- the FFXI battle system IS horrid. But on this game, your party automoves to the enemies, and lines from your character go to the enemy when you're selecting what to do. the "little blue window" for commands is still there, and has a lot of familiar commands. In FFXI, there were like... 4 gray gray bars and slow and boring attacking. This is much more fast paced. The big similarity I noticed is that summoned creatures stay out and follow you like on FFXI, and you can't control them. But who doesn't like that for protection?:p

Yeah, I know. I looked it up on the net to make sure I was using it right. Though it said that's what it meant, it also said it could be used (or maybe just "is mistakingly used") to mean pointless. Which I have seen it used in such context several times before. I decided to use it anyway, because I couldn't think of a different word that was as stupid-sounding as "moot".

I got DQ8. It rocks. Haven't tried the FF12 demo. The battle system sounds interesting to me, though I'm sure I'll miss the old-style battle system.

I didn't care about the move to PS because I wasn't into FF yet, but I think the biggest reason some people may not have liked FF7 being 3D was the fact that it looks horrible. Even for then.

Dragon Quest 8 was a very good demo, too bad square-enix didn't make a dragon quest game for the psp. I wasn't into ff7 series either until I played FF7.

Who needs reviews...I got the forum.

Man I played FF from it's craddle days, and (once I got over the System Transitional Trauma) I didn't really care that the graphics were sh*t, I cared about the graphics because 2d kicks ass(part of the reason why RM1 is the sh*t) and I liked it better. And to tell you the truth, I didn't even notice FFVII-VIII had shity graphics until years after beating them fifty times over...but that's also when I noticed that Square games look like sh*t until you get to the cutscenes, Yes-even KH2, compared to other PS2 games it was kind of pathetic in my oppinion (exception: FFX, still graphically one of the best games EVER)

What I don't get is that games like KH2 that are already out in Japan and take forever to come out here. They just need to translate and ship basically. That doesn't take too long at all.

Ahhhh, but they also need to sync the lip movements....do you think they come like that? That could take awhile I imagine. And, knowing square, they are getting the voice acting perfect as well.

They have an excuse there. That needs to be localized with many, many voice actors. There is a lot of talking in that game.

However, Advent Children should have been out already.
