Well, I was able to get the last copy of RPGM 3 from my local GameStop Friday. I also picked up a keyboard (this would be insane with-out it), so thanks for the suggestion there!

First thing I did was go through The Dear Brave Heart data, and modified it, (mostly just the things they say, and the appearances etc) So that I could get a feel for it. Sooo many options! Very cool.

I am currently going through the adventure to just see where all the different examples of "scenerios" are that I will want to use in my own adventure. I am extremely impressed with this software.

I will pick up a dex-drive after the holidays to share my game with you all, once it is complete.

Do you have any submission guidelines on content? Does the RPG need to be kept "clean"? not that I am making a leisure Suit larry type game, but I do have a couple of things that I would like to do, but it may not be acceptable for all audiences.

Anyway, I look forward to getting started. Thanks for "point" in the right direction.

Ok, I might want to just tell you that Dex Drive only works for PS1 saves.

And with RPGM3, there is no way you could do a decent Larry Suit Leziure game with it. RPGM1, yes.

Though it has been done before though. But not to much sucess.

You can submit anything you make. It'll just be labeled Everyone, Teen, Mature, or Adult. That's it.

You'll be happy to know that RPGM3 can do more than what it tries to show you with Dear Brave Heart.

I finished up the Dear Braveheart last night. I just wanted to get an idea of "where" some of the examples were. For example when I want to have someone bring an item back to unlock another event, I can remember the frog. :) That sort of thing.

I started making my map yesterday, I was a little bummed out when I realized that there were no benches, docs, boats (I knew there were no "workable ones" put I was hoping to place some scenic ones, for my port. I changed it around to make it more like a Hunting town, which worked out quite well. Not to many buildings to choose from, but fine by me as I was able to get most objects, and a few imporant "event" objects that I wanted to be part of the story. I put a lagoon type area, and up north some mountains and a "secret passage to the north". That sort of thing.

Also, what do I need to buy to share my creation with you all then?

I made a couple monster parties, some bee's and ants, and then made my main character "Angel" and a couple of npc bad guys that are ready to start their tormenting of poor Angel. ONe thing that I have to mention here that just bummed me out to no end, was that I wanted a red head human girl that welded a two handed battle hammer. :( The game limits me to a dwarf!!! good gawd no!! I hate dwarfs! Anyway around this would be greatly appreciated. Regardless I sucked in my pride and made her a fighter, but it kills me that I have to negotiate on something so simple. :(

Next I went into story teller, put in an intro and and outro. Also assigned the prequisites of my story, "where to start" "how much money" etc, etc.
Then I saved the database, and went to playtest... but it would not let me, I don't remember the error message, but it was basically telling me I am not ready to begin the adventure yet. I must have missed something? Not sure what.

Regardless, my first impressions of RPGM3, are that it looks nice, the menu's are easy, but I feel that I am falling short on clipart, and a few options that I would like to have.

I would like to be able to edit what the shop keeps say, I would like to be able to have my red-haired human with a two handed battle hammer, and I would have liked to have some "port town" buildings to add.

Overall, I do enjoy it, and because I have not used previious makers, I am not as aware of my missing options as some of you are. I do hope that they make another one of these with, more art, and more custom options however. But overall, I think it's a great package deal for $50 smackers. :)

You need a max drive or shark drive.

Max drive is the easiest to get and can be found in most Ebgames or Circuit City, ect.

I am a little confused with "class". In D&D your class is basically your job, then you have your character.

Does that apply here as well? I mean, even though I have a "Class" that has to be dwarf, can I still puck a human "character" with that "class" to be my main character in my game?

Pretty much. You've got your basic fighters (though they're restricted to nunchuck-thingies, no barefisted characters in this game), warriors, mages, etc. Though you could try to mix it up a little and have unique classes of your choice, though of course those classes will be restricted on weapon choices and the looks of the attacks.

I was able to get my red-haired Amazon to wield the two handed hammer.
sweet. :)

I used the before mentioned trick, to get weapon on any character. My questions is, will she be able to "buy" better warhammers throughout the game? Or because I used this trick she is going to be "stuck" with that weapon?

I am not very far along with the construction of my rpg, and I kind of wanted to know before I went through and made a bunch of different hammers for her.
