Well, I dont remember dying, if that helps!

I've been home the past week.I was ordered to rest for nearly 3 weeks due to the emotional stress I've been having at work.
This will probably be my last year teaching if I don't find something out of middle school on a private school.
Dept. Of Education is a horrible place to work, and we have 0 support from them.

Angry statement coming up:

I had to listen to this fracking stupid-ass song the last two nights of work in a row because on second shift in the lab I work with two Hispanic and one black girl all in their twenties who like this kind of crap and thus play it on their phones all shift. ... I HATE hearing this song, and I have NEVER liked Rihanna's voice.

I actually thought she was going off into pure gibberish after the first verse "work work work work", every time she got back to the repetition she was actually just slurring words in an increasingly nonsensical fashion like she was having rapidly onsetting dysarthria. Until I saw the lyrics in the above video because I wanted to know exactly what the hell she was trying to say (I honestly thought it was "wor, wor, wor, wor" the second time like she couldn't finish the word "work", then "dur dur dur dur" the third time like she was retarded, and so on), and she is actually saying real words like work and dirt! And singing them badly to where I couldn't understand them on purpose! WHY IS THIS sh*t CALLED MUSIC?! f*ck THIS SONG.

Bro, I completely feel you. I wouldn't have been able to tell she was saying real words if it wasn't for the subtitles.

This song, is in fact, awful. I mean, I guess we're getting old enough to start hating on all the new stuff the kids these days like... but whatever. This is bad.

And apparently this is one in only 20 to 30 songs that Myella (the Hispanic girl whose cell phone is responsible for my hearing this particular song) has on her one and only playlist she has used thus far, so this means that on nights she's the one playing the music, I am all but guaranteed to hear it at least once, if not two or three times, a week. Even with the foam ear plugs we have to use when going into the production area, it is all-too easily audible considering how small the lab room is.

It is by far and wide not the only crap song that the girls play, either. Justin Bieber's "Sorry" is on there, too, along with a few Nikki Minaj pieces I never heard before until now but would recognize her godawful voice anywhere, and just a whole bunch of good ol' indistinguishable rap songs that amount to "you have a huge ass and I want it now, you ho'".

I'm not hating on the girls - they are nice enough - but I sure as heck am hating on their taste in music. I really shouldn't have expected much different, though.

STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE

Seriously, everyone has something they hate. I hate all of country music with a passion.

I like catchy tunes. They need to get headphones up in there.

I would have to agree. I hate modern popular country with a passion. Old school country is acceptable, though. Like Johnny Cash. And alternative country like Bonny Prince Billy.

Well, went back to the old days of Albemarle and Norit temporarily by working almost twelve hours today. I hear Dr. Pepper will spring a week of 11 to 12-hour shifts on you from time to time without forewarning. And this week is one of them.

Today I also went on a rant to everyone else in the lab, including the manager Cory (the "good" lab manager from the first shift who is a lot more chill), about why The Notebook is a crummy movie that has no grasp on true love despite what Hollywood would have you believe. I only saw it once 10+ years ago when it had just come out in theatres, and I still cannot seem to shake my intense burning hatred for it. Don't worry; I didn't just bring it up out of thin air. =P But James quoted a line that I somehow recognized from The Village, and so I passively commented that I think the movie didn't deserve as much hate as it gets, since it seems to be widely recognized as that point in which M. Night Shyamalan really started to wear out his welcome and seemingly started putting twists in all of his movies just for the heck of it (and believe me, I do understand that), due to one personal reason that I could at least appreciate one of the morals of the movie, that a love between two of the movie's protagonists could be featured without the usual BS like remorseless cheating (such as in The Notebook), constant shuffling of dating and/or sex partners until the two who were supposed to get together in the end eventually got there, and, really just sex at all, which sure is great and all but is still not near the most important part of love, not even a real requirement. It was just the blind girl going out into certain danger alone, risking her life on a journey to find medical help to save the guy who'd declared his love for her. There are a lot of things wrong with the movie, of course, but I contend that this fact is not one of them. James surprisingly agreed with me while Ernest and Cory sort of booed at that one. So as guys we all start getting into talk about romance movies that are good (and thus as guys we are not ashamed to admit it) and those that suck. ... I thought I was about to end the conversation and get back to my work with a dry one-liner that "no matter what, when all is said and done about this, one romance movie that definitely blows is The Notebook." James and Ernest laugh while Cory stands back up out of his office chair that he'd just returned to and makes a beeline to the middle of the room to contend with me on that one (not taking it too seriously). It was an entertaining conversation.

After 20 days of rest, I'm back at work. I thought it was going to be a bad day, but it was actually pretty ok.

I'm glad things are going better. I've heard about the Puerto Rico debt issues and heard that the Education funds are being hit especially hard.

I spent most of today with Brooke in the hospital. Nothing too new, but Brooke's mom's health is not looking good. Really glad I decided against Magcon, it just wasn't to be.

Well, I just got through my daily Cracked.com article reading, ... and now I know the gist of what happens behind the scenes of the furry porn animation industry.

... I guess you can call it educational?
