Aww, I wanna keep the doggie shirt! Also the Splash-O-Matic is out! I need to get back into the swing of Splatoon!

My problem is that I'll suck at aiming, and often I find myself stuck in the other geam's goop while I'm trying to back away. Usually this is when I use my shield, but since everyone's focusing on this one little area, it's not as easy for me to power up the shield.

That said, I just unlocked a new gun I wanna try out....

Team Matchmaking is coming next month. You will now be able to form a team to match up against other teams. So if you've been wanting to play together as a team and not at random, now you get to.

Not playing with friends is the biggest reason I haven't played since launch.

That'll be nice. I haven't played as often, but being able to make private matches might draw me back in.

The new update releases on August 6.

The update features:

• Squad Battles (Ranked battles with friends)
• Private Matches for between 2 and 8 players (It even allows uneven matchmaking like 1v4, ect.)
• Level cap increased from 20 to 50
• Ranked Battle max rank increased to include S and S+
• 2 new weapon types
• Sloshers are paint buckets that can throw paint high and far (sort of like a mortar, useful for taking out snipers)
• Splatlings are like gatling guns, they can be charged up to release rapid fire ink
• More than 40 new pieces of gear to collect

There are still plans to add more weapons, maps, and gamemodes for the next few months atleast.

Man. They're putting together a great pack of content. I love how they're doing it all for free, too.

Private Matches is what excites me. I haven't played since launch day as I see this as a game best played with friends.

I didn't mind playing with or against you guys, but it will be nice to be able to get in the same room much more easily. I do wish/hope we could open to randos to fill out slots if we don't have 8 people.

This is a very heated topic, but I for one am glad they listened to the requests of fans and put this in. I do look forward to the DLC they put out considering it is all free. The Inkbrush being my favorite piece, alongside that one new stage where you'd probably get vertigo or something. The Splatfests have also been very fun, even if Water Slides lost the most recent one.

Still haven't touched online play but this will be a good opportunity.

Sounds like a good idea. I need to get less rusty so I die 1% less during Splatfest tomorrow.

Good news! Today may be Splatfest, but Private Matches are still possible!
The only thing is that everyone must either wear Team Hot Dog or Team Marshmallow shirt.
