Metroid Prime: Federation Force is instantly the most hated Nintendo game in recent memory. And the game was only just announced!

I'm reminded of how much people said, "3D Metroid! This is going to suck!" when the original Prime was announced. 'course in this case the "Hero of another story" mechanic is what's pissing people off.

"No fun allowed" - All of these people.

Wow, I don't care if people hate it (it didn't impress me but I'm not a Metro I'd fan) but the sense of entitlement is strong in these ones.

Not only that but with how many people were saying the whole E3 line-up sucked simply because of this game, which got less than 2 minutes of screen time.

"I'm not playing as Samus fighting the same exact f*cking enemies as the last 12 games?! This is bullsh*t! I want more of the same, but with Samus's nipples poking through her armor in HD! f*ck you, Nintendo!"

I can understand wanting to expand the universe, especially for the sake of context in a future Prime game. But the timing was just awful. After the disappointment that was Other M, people were waiting for a Metroid game to come and redeem the franchise, and this is not it. It might've been a better decision if they first moved on with the next Samus game, and then perhaps did Federation Force as a prequel.

Basically, they should've focused on damage control before trying something like this. This just adds fuel to the fire.

Reading the comments only makes me say, "Grow up."

I will say that it's kinda cool that you're exploring three planets. And from what I've been reading, the fan hate won't get this game cancelled. Nintendo's optimistic that they'll win the fans over.
