We have exactly three one hour opportunities to play this demo before the game launches.

The Deets

・To celebrate the upcoming release of Splatoon on 5/29, we're offering an early chance to get your feet wet in the Splatoon Global Testfire!
・Jump online and fight it out in fast and furious 4-on-4 Turf War battles!
・This event will only be active during a few short time periods.
・You'll need an Internet connection to participate in the Splatoon Global Testfire.

How to Join In

Download the free Splatoon Global Testfire software from Nintendo eShop for Wii U, and then launch the software during one of the designated event times!

I really liked it. I wasn't in a hurry to get the game at launch. Things have changed.

I loved it! I usually stay away from competitive/pvp games since I suck at them, but I feel Splatoon gives me a chance to find my place in a match.
I just need to get used to some of the mechanics, like remembering I can swim in the ink. Too bad I'll miss tomorrow's play sessions.

I actually thought it'd start right now. It was a good thing I decided to see if there was something to do just before I thought it would begin.

Ranked just opened last night. Played it for a bit. It's okay, but you can only play with randoms. Absolutely no friends, much less parties.

I haven't tried Ranked matches. My brother did and lost. He said his team got 0 points and the winning team 500 each, which sounds odd.

Yeah. Ranked is all or nothing. If you lose you get no experience.

But if winners get merely 500 points each, then "all" is not really that good. I can get more by losing in regular matches :S

Ranked is more about increasing your rank more than your level. Half of everyone I saw was level 20 anyways...

I never even saw rank anywhere. I just assumed rank and level were one and the same.

You can't miss it. They make a huge deal about it when you go to online. Callie and Marie talk in great detail about how it works.
