Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

My primary focus this time was heading back to Baron. Once I reached the castle it was time to face Baigon. Which confused me because right before the fight it says "Baigon joins the party" on the screen. Does that make him a frenemy? Who knows.

That's all for now.

A ruse for two reasons:
1. You can't trust everyone at face value.
2. You already had a full party.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

First up was a battle with Kainazzo. He seemed much easier than I thought once I figured out he was weak to ice. Next was when we begin to board the airship (must be another Final Fantasy staple because I remember an airship from FF6 as well). Anyway, it is mentioned that our next destination was Toroia. Upon arriving at the Toroia castle, it is revealed that a dark elf stole something and it's located on an island northeast of the castle. I have yet to find this island. But I'm hoping to find it next time.

That's all for now.

I hope you gathered a lot of information both in town and in the castle, as it not only tells you what you need to do to get to the island, but also what to avoid when in the next dungeon.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

After being sent to take on the Dark Elf, it was time to head there courtesy of a Black Chocobo. Once at the battle, it reminded me of other RPG battles I've faced. But the most surprising mechanic of all is how Edward's music can cut off Dark Elf's magic for a short time. I used it to my advantage and returned the lost crystal to Toroia. Next time, my primary focus will be finding Rosa.

That's all for now.

That next objective actually isn't too hard.

Not much to explain, but here's what happened:

This progress report took place in a brand new dungeon. It was mostly about random battles up until where I end which is the Magus Sisters. I figured out that the tactic of the battle was the sisters use recover magic. Which makes me wonder which sister I should try to defeat first. Next time, my main priority will be trying to defeat the sisters and hopefully find Rosa.

That's all for now.

Admittedly the Magus Sisters are among the hardest boss battles in the game for newcomers.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

After several failed attempts to beat the Magus Sisters, I finally beat them. I was trying many times to fight them without save states, but it didn't end up working out. So I had to save state a few times. Once Cindy was defeated, Sandy and Mindy were a piece of cake. After the battle was a battle with Goblez that goes automatically. When that was done, two more allies join the party. Primary focus for next time: Getting further through the current dungeon.

That's all for now.

Check everyone's equipment before you go anywhere.

Also, I do hope you saved after defeating the Magus sisters.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

It started with a battle with Valvarius. Battle was easy enough. Then came Golbez again (seriously, do you ever go away?). Easy enough to get through. Next objective was to find Magma in order to open a volcanic passage. Objective for next time is to go further through the volcanic passage.

That's all for now.

Why would the main villain ever go away?

As for unlocking the next area, the best thing to do is visit places you haven't been to yet and talk to everyone in those towns.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

After circling around the volanic area twice I thought "Okay, clearly I must've made a wrong turn." And I found where it was: Turns out I missed a hidden doorway that would take me to the Bab-il Tower. Once there, I started exploring the tower. Next time, my objective will be to progress further through the Bab-il Tower.

I think you skipped an update or two since there are a couple of events between opening the Underground and entering the Tower of Bab-il.

Maybe I might have. It made sense since the furthest I got to was a dead end on the 4th floor. How far would I have to backtrack to find this?

Yeah. Once you enter the Underground there's a cutscene that takes you to a new castle. As for Bab-il itself, it had a few dead-ends but you shouldn't have to backtrack more than a floor.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

So apparently that one time I found a dead end in the Bab-il Tower, it was a wrong turn. So I rectified that mistake and made it to the 8th floor. There was a battle with a mad scientist named Dr. Rogue. Battle was easy enough, I'll give it that. Upon winning the battle, I was given a key to open a locked room. Inside was the Super Cannon controls. Once the cannon was activated, our party was forced to flee, but Yang was left behind. Which makes me wonder if Yang died in the Super Cannon explosion. The airship helped the rest of the party escape to safety. Next place I was told to go was Baron. Although upon returning to Baron, I didn't notice any cutscene triggers. I guess I'll find out for sure next time.

That's all for now.

The scene doesn't trigger immediately upon entering Baron Castle, you have to talk to the people Cid told you to talk to.

Time for another progress report. Here's what happened:

I found the one guy in Baron you talk to in order to trigger a cutscene. And this is what triggered a new feature: An anchor allowing you to carry around the hovercraft. This was needed to access a cave near the Tower of Bab-il. Inside the cave we meet our newest party member Edge. Then it was time for a different route through the Tower. It is here we meet our next boss Rubicant. Next time, I'll try to figure out a plan to defeat Rubicant.

That's all for now.
