Finished 100%ing Wario Land: Shake It! and have slowly been working on clearing Challenges in Mario Golf: World Tour. Otherwise it was a light gaming week.

I played through DuckTales: Remastered for the first time yesterday, on Easy. A little over three hours in one sitting. I'll probably play through on the harder difficulties eventually, especially for the chance of unlocking everything. Definately enjoyed the game, and the credits are so OMG that I've already rewatched them multiple times. =P

This morning I accomplished something that I thought was beyond my skill as a gamer. I beat New Super Luigi U 100 percent.

Congrats, lala!

I took it easy last week and didn't make much progress other than some Mario Kart 8 and the single-player challenges on Mario Golf 3DS. Though I started Tales of Xillia the other day and am about 3/4 through Chapter 1 on Jude's story.

I have been playing Fire Emblem Awakening for the past few days. At the beginning I felt a bit overwhelmed byseeing so many DLC maps, and so many characters and classes and stuff, but I got the hang of it. I also ignored the DLC maps for now.

Since my support thingy was very low among most of the party members, I spent a whole day raising them up so they can all get married.

Now I'm the long process of recruiting
all their kids from the future
before I continue with the actual story. I'm halfway there!

Main focuses for the past week have been Tales of Xillia and Shovel Knight and am about halfway through both. Fortunately they haven't distracted from keeping up with Let's Play progress too.

Been a week so time for another update:

Beat Shovel Knight right as I got home from work on Thursday but need to go back and get the rest of the music scrolls before starting NG+. Switching between that and Mario Golf 3DS for the time being.

Took a break from recording over the weekend to finish up Tales of Xillia and enjoy the new TV. Got the Platinum so I'll finish up Mario Kart 8 and maybe play through Child of Light before moving on to the next game on my 2014 Gaming Goal list.

Just beat hard mode of Ducktales Remastered. Had over 10 lives left at the end. They give you a lot of those things. So much for being hard.

Of course, there's an even more difficult level over that. Not entirely sure what to expect from it. But on the plus side, I'm now able to play through the game with 8-bit music, so that'll be interesting.

Fire Emblem Awakening stole a big chunk of the past days.
I did all the paralogue recruiting, and beat the game. I tried to do the spotpass bonus maps, but I made the horrible mistake of turning my sweet hero into a weak trickster.

Started a second playthrough were I focused more on making sure the paralogue characters had the skills I wanted (ahem galeforce)

The last spotpass map was interesting, since I stopped using the parents as I recruited their children. So I pretty much had 15 able units out of 30 units I could use in that map.
I managed to do it after several tries, with the parents serving as support with heals and rallies.

I want to find a motivation to keep playing, so I'll be checking some DLC maps later and maybe start hard mode too?

Fan consensus is that "Normal" is the hardest difficulty.

I'm 47 hours into Watch Dogs. I enjoy the game more now that the graphical mods unlocked the 2012 features. I just completed the first two missions in Act III. There are six acts in all. The thing I love about WD is that you can have fun doing the side missions and mini games. The VR trips are great. I hope there are more in future DLCs and in the inevitable sequel. The first act is cringe worthy; then the game starts to find a much better pace.

It did seem a bit counter-productive to replace all the full heals with extra lives in hard mode.

Hard mode is frustratingly difficult. Not in the good kind of difficulty either. Enemies just hit a lot harder and are more likely to gangbang/target weaker characters. It's pretty brutal. Have fun >.<

----

I've been playing Divinity: Original Sin with a friend. We've probably put about 3 hours in so far and I have to say... this game is the closest to a pure D&D style game (that's still fun... looking at you Blackguards :/ ) that I've ever played. It's amazing. I'll keep myself from typing forever about it, but if anyone is interested in it I highly recommend it and am willing to talk it up.

And now I beat Ducktales Remastered on Extreme. I wouldn't really say that it's "extreme", but I spent most of the game worrying about my life count, and didn't pull ahead until the last couple of levels. As a result of beating Extreme, I was able to afford the rest of the gallery, so now I've beaten the game 100%. Although I suppose I could go back into an easier difficulty and hunt down the hidden treasures so I have a full money bin, again, but I'm ready to move on to another game. Back to Donkey Kong Land III.

Had a full week of evening activities this past week but still managed to make good progress and make up for those over the weekend:

* Got Metal Torrent from Club Nintendo for 200 coins. Not a bad little STG but really wasn't worth 200 coins as I beat it in a single run without dying.
* Finished up getting all of the Collectibles on Shovel Knight. Undecided on if I'll do a NG+/Hard Mode run.
* Also took the time to clear Mario Kart 8 by getting the gold trophy on each GP and getting the rest of the stamps. Made for great practice for Saturday night.
* The weekend began and ended with Child of Light, beating the main story and obtaining all of the trophies. Undecided on a NG+ run. With that done, it's time to move on to Growlanser II as part of the Gaming Goal focus.
* Finally, I spent a lot of the week catching up on daily puzzles from Professor Layton 6 while breaking from Mario Golf: World Tour. Couldn't rekindle enthusiasm for Mario Golf so I'm marking that as "Complete" and moving on to Hyperdimension Neptunia PP: Producing Perfection for the next handheld focus.

Finished Donkey Kong Land III at 103%. Not sure what game I'll play, next. I've got plenty of choices.

Spent the majority of the weekend playing and beating Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land and playing a bit of Bardbarian. Both are very cheap games on steam.

Call was actually pretty good. Interesting little strategy game. I found myself just wishing it would keep going and delve deeper into things adding more units and more upgrades but alas, it had to end.

Bardbarian is a pretty interesting little mobile port I believe. Not sure I would really recommend it as it's legitimately just a time waster. No real challenge involved, just accumulate money to get stronger.

When the forums are this quiet, it's not a sign of the end times. It's a symptom of new games. Mario Kart 8. Gary's Mod. Space Engineers. In the past two days we have collectively played Space Engineers for 77 hours. Over the past four days we have played Gary's Mod for 61 hours. We have a problem that I don't want to fix.

Been a pretty quiet week for console gaming. I started up Growlanser II but have only done the first couple of battles. Have spent more time this week watching Season 1 of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air than console gaming.

The Vita's seen a lot of action this week with getting a little more than halfway through Hyperdimension Neptunia PP: Producing Perfection by getting 100% completion on two of the four character routes. Along with that this week saw the release of Muramasa Rebirth's third DLC chapter and is definitely the best one yet, so I did a quick run of that.

Other than that, progress on the two games I'm LPing right now is steady: Illusion of Gaia will likely conclude this week while the latest FF6 video contains the most editing I've done in a single video and I'm very proud of the end result despite a couple of audio hiccups.

Oh yeah, also got Dr. Luigi for this year's Platinum reward from Club Nintendo. Really should turn it on.
