I know it's been a while since I've updated my Jester's Hunt let's play. I kinda got drained from all the work I've been doing with these, so I'm taking a break by focusing on a relatively simple-to-edit Mario 3D World.

Still, I'd like to post something here. Hm... This looks like a job for RERUNS!

Okay, so there's actually a real reason I'm doing this. Since I've been let's playing for over five years now, I decided to look back on my older let's plays and comment on them. And I apparently have plenty to say. So if you can tolerate my crappy commentary and even-crappier video quality, check these out and read what I have to say about them. =)

I'm currently rewatching my old let's play of "Untamed Madness", and I stumbled upon the above quote. It's interesting to think that this five-year-old joke is getting close to becoming true. =P

I'm getting ever so close to returning to RPG Maker let's plays (I think), but for now, I'm still commenting on all my old videos. A long time ago, before 1ce made the ever-so-popular "Josh's Adventure", he tried porting the arcade "Donkey Kong" onto RPGM1. I wound up doing a test-play of it for him, on camera. Bearing in mind that this isn't the finished version, you might be interested in checking this out, and seeing what I think of the LP and game today.

Coincidentally, tomorrow will be the fifth year anniversary of this game. Goodness, how time flies!

In the spirit of re-commenting, I'll do some commenting as well and also point out changes between the test-play and the final version.

-The title screen was centered, thanks for the suggestion.

-The meowing tux guy made his first appearance here! I use him to allow myself and other playtesters to skip to later levels without the need to unlock them. I've used this guy in all of my demos ever since. :heart

-Probably the most interesting change between this and the final product: notice when Jumpman looks up sometimes, one of his arms sticks up? The original plan was to have his arms up when he looked upward, to give the appearance of climbing. Eventually I scrapped the idea and just used the original sprite instead.

-Speaking of which, the sprite I obtained from the Pavilion is from one of their big sprite stockpiles. That explains why the color doesn't match his Donkey Kong colors.

-You mentioned somewhere some RM1 technobabble about odd numbered events, and how they have priority over even numbered ones. I can't remember if the final game utilized this info, but I did use it for Josh's Adventure. So thanks for the tip.

-In this demo only the first part of Pauline's 100m text is different. In the final game the level has different dialog for each difficulty.

This game will always be near and dear to my heart for helping jumpstart my RPG Maker career. It was thanks to people like you who supported the game, so thank you Draygone!
