So, there's a topic like this in the video game forums- and I think it's nice since you can kinda just make a casual progress note instead of a full topic.

This is a place to make random making notes, and perhaps encouragement of game continuation/bouncing of ideas. I know a few people here are most certainly working on RPGM things.

I'll start.

Recently, I have been working on my Pav contest game, though I have no idea of if I'll get done on time from the barrage of real life garbage. Last thing I tested was a tool system for Ace, and it works rather nicely. Right now, I'm working on solidifying the story more, as well as working on my custom character sprites.

Your turn!

I have an idea for something using RPGM1.

That's pretty much it.

Working on ideas as usual. I should just sell my ideas to developers.

I like the idea for this topic. Unfortunately nothing new this weekend except that I am watching Lord of the Rings and it is getting me pumped for RPGs in general though most of what I would make would be quite different. I'll keep you posted.

Good Stuff!

I planned out the basic layout for the story for my contest game in my notebook. I also did research into a few real life things, and how I'd like it to translate to my golems. Terminology is another page I started, currency, etc... speaking of which, I also decided to kinda give the town the game focuses on a back story and a place in the economy, and a reason why the town was settled in the first place(natural resources).

Next, I'm thinking I need to finish my custom sprites, design the main characters aesthetically, and also their golems. The maps will be limited in my game, but that is mainly because I am on a deadline, and I don't want the game to become too beastly to finish.

Survival 2: Playtesting, adding in extra content, and generally waiting for custom art to be finished.

Credence (MagCon West/Pavilion contest game): Working on the first... five areas or so for the demo, planning out the rest to complete for the Pavilion contest as soon as the demo is sent in.

I've been doing a sh*t ton of research and planning for my current project. Im not kidding. But it has been good to me and makes the actual process of game design less of a tedious nightmare. I'm trying to get a demo made with all the necessary mechanics in it. Once I do that I can start on a actually creating the game.

Crunch time!

Very cool!

I have been working out sketches of the parallax maps I wanna try out. I'm going in kind of a different direction due to the limitations of event activation from 4 sides instead of 8 for door events.

Made more progress! Not super amounts, but amounts.

I am currently designing my leading lady's love interest. She's a pretty cool person. She loves books, and is a Golemancer. She has a pet pig/hog Golem. I'm not quite done drawing her yet(costume design), but yeah!

Still a major on my to-do list is fleshing out my map thumbnails. A game with no maps is uh... yeah!

I got this done! Ignore the video quality suck. I need to figure out an alternative to .wmv since Youtube is messing it up royally for me, too.:( The .mp4 quality is NOT where I would like it.

Sprite rough drafts are fun.

Guh, I don't think I'll be able to reach the contest deadline in time. I didn't realize how fast a month could go and my project is still way behind. I spent a lot of time with this idea and it would be tough to scrap it and try to plan out something entirely new. One idea I have is to create another game for the contest and continue working on my current project on my own time, honing it without the constraint of a deadline.

So that parallax map is pretty much done! I might make a few small painting modifications, but it works. I don't think I am going to have time to animate the doors(which stinks), but I'd rather finish the game than not at this point.

I'm also kinda making a small series of it. I probably won't comment much if at all(takes time away from doing things on it), but I kinda want something to look back on- and to also share how much fun this is and stuff.

The first map took a small bit to paint, but since everything is on layers I can re-use resources. This is essential I think! But yeah, I hope everyone else is having their projects go well too!

Project Golem all ready rules.

My project is going okay, considering the whole RPGM3 being its medium thing. Currently making sure the MagCon demo of it is in working order. This demo will actually have the story bits in it for the Con!

Considering recent events, I don't think Project Golem will be finished in time for the Pav contest.

HOWEVER, this means I don't have to scrap a bunch like I was going to initially. It isn't dead. Far from it.

The game was going to be missing optional Golems, entire areas, and customizable gems for your Golems. Which in my opinion, would have been a bit more boring. I want the gems to kinda work like... specializations in a specific field. Every character can't do EVERYTHING, but they can be a bit more specialized and get bonuses in specific elements and other things under their own style of fighting.

I'm also quite new to battle balancing/creation in general, so I think it is definitely a good idea for me to take my time with this game. My release date that is super fluid for now is probably spring/summer 2014.:O

I'm not out of this contest yet. My dream project is halted for good considering the short amount of time I had to work on it, but my backup project still has a flicker of hope, I just need to stop being lazy with it.

GO MAN GO!

Watching Face's demo from Magcon was really inspiring. The maps alone were like WHOA.

I figured out the portrait style I wanted. Something simple. I worked on it during the Magcon stream.

Well, it is obvious at this point, but my RPGM3 game did not have a demo at MagCon. It will, however, be released for the Pav's contest, even if I have to release it in volumes to make the deadline.

Currently getting myself 'psyched up' to transplant the text from Wordpad to RPGM3. Woo!

Really excited for that game! I read the bit about it in your topic.:D

Designed two of the Golems in well... Project Golem! They're Frog and Hog for now. I'm still not going to be able to make the Pav Contest deadline(hand-painting maps is something I won't sacrifice). BUT to everyone still working on that, I wish you luck and good work times.:D
