So much burn. But, having to pay a fee for online gaming is a bit of ointment, isn't it.

Funny how long Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been in the making, and they just decided to hang it up and make it 15 for PS4.

Now that I've calmed down after hearing the news finally- I'm super excited about Transistor. It just looks amazing. Bastion is amazing as well.

There's not much else in super particular that excites me- hopefully, PSone and 2 classics work still(I do not see why they wouldn't), and all that jazz. I honestly would not mind if this hypothetical new console RPGM came out on PS4. As of right now- perfect fit.

I am also super happy they are not screwing indie devs sideways. Unlike Xbone.

Things couldn't have possibly gone better. Microsoft had such a boring conference and Sony just crushed it. This is exactly what we needed to happen so that gaming might have a future away from the things that Microsoft was trying to enforce. And we can only hope they sink in a mud hole so deep that they won't see the light of day till the next generation.

As greedy and stupid as Microsoft is, I hope this buries them. I'd like go back to a Playstation and Nintendo console market, and perhaps an Ouya to bundle in. Microsoft has just proven to be a stink hole of money grubbing dick holes. I don't ever want to support them again.

I kinda feel that way too. I've always been a Nintendo/Sony person, and even skipped the first Xbox. I'm just glad Sony realized they can do much better with a lower starting price point(the PS2 was similar way back when), and common sense instead of pushing everything but games. As I recall, they made it a point this year to mention how many actual games they were showing at E3 as well.

My only hope? I hope it is more like the end of the PSP's lifespan. That console has so many games that came out way later. As long as Sony achieves convincing their third party support to actually localize in a timely fashion, the PS4 will be a huge success in my book.

Yes, I read this morning that the PS4 was region free. Probably the first actual console to do that. Even the NES and SNES were technically region locked.

Doesn't surprise me. The PS3 was region free as well (well, the games anyway), so why wouldn't the PS4?

Well, PS3 had free online gameplay so I guess I shouldn't say that.

edit: I see that I had a deep misunderstanding with ps3 and that it was actually the games that are region free, not the system. You're right.

PS3, Vita, PSP, and regular DS were also region free. I wish Nintendo would do this! But I can live with it.

Anyways, I pre-ordered my PS4 today! We pre-ordered the console, Watch Dogs(looks good enough), and an extra controller. I also noticed the guy at Gamestop was telling an XBro about the invasive DRM and Kinect crap. The customer was convinced immediately, and switched to pre-ordering a PS4. I don't even think the Xbox One will work on XBros as long as employees are just explaining the differences.

I'm excited anyways! I'm mainly a J-Game gamer from habit, so this is perfect- Sony and Nintendo.

It's not really a backtrack. It's literally how it is for the PS3. Other companies can do the whole Online Pass, etc, thing, but it's not built into the system.

It's not Sony's fault if publishers decide to douchebag it up like EA. No one blamed 360 or PS3 for online passes. It's all on the publisher.

Anyways, what people said. PS3 has that now. A ton of games have online pass... and it isn't just EA. Sega made Phantasy Star Portable 2 unplayable online unless you had the code from the box, and weeks later they introduced a $10 online license in the PSN store.

So hopefully publishers won't be douche canoes.
