Just because it's there doesn't make it right. I think the gaming community is a little too "duded" up and has ridiculous reactions to women, and there will be women that are never satisfied with anything that's done. But just because stupidity on either side happens doesn't mean that it's right one way or the other. Just saying "Learn to deal with it or get off" is just like saying "Learn to deal with horrible government policies, or just leave." It doesn't fix any problem and just makes the people who look like dicks even more dickish. Honestly, sometimes I really dislike the mindset of people on the Internet and gamers in general.

Edit: it's also these same types of people (the guys in the tumble post) that sexualize woman characters in video games. Think about that for a moment.

Of course it doesn't make it right. But there is literally nothing you (or anyone) can do about it. And trying to post all the negative things to you isn't going to do anything but show that you can't handle the trolls. And it's not just the gaming community... it's everywhere and in everything.

And yeah. If you don't like horrible politics, you can either deal with it or leave. I mean, what else can you really do? I mean, it's blunt and harsh, but it's legitimate truth.

As far as the feminist goes, I show little sympathy for people who's whole organization is based on doing nothing but stirring up trouble where there is none.

Nothing I or anyone can do about it? I recall many successful civil rights movements and what have you being successful. Or maybe when people post that kind of stuff, it's trying to show a major problem in a large group of people and their archaic thinking. You may not win all the battles, or any for that matter, but standing up against it and making people more aware is doing more than just shrugging your shoulders. Nothing ever changed from a mere shrugging of shoulders.

I think feminism and it's original intent has been warped by people who seek special treatment and privileges. Feminism's roots was about creating more equal rights and opportunities than they had before. It's morphed by extremists and it's pushed and backed by people with money and the media. Can you stop it? Probably not. But wouldn't you rather try to change it or just shrug it off and say, "Oh well. Might as well just deal with it since that's how it is"? Just how I see it.

You call me when that civil rights movement for "being nice on the internet" starts, buddy.

I'd like to point out that gender representation in video games has absolutely nothing to do with civil rights.

No single person in this Earth can say that their rights were infringed by having all male leads in this year's round of announced games. There is no law, bylaw, right, or thread of argument that can say a person was wronged by this.

Feminists can wince and whine all they like about female leads in video games, but they have no foothold. Games with female leads tend to not have profit margins that are worth it for the industry. That's all.

That being said, there have been some successful ones. But the market isn't big enough.

Regardless, even if they did start getting 1 female lead regularly, they'd complain that it's just the "token lead girl" to shut up feminists, and they'd likely whine more.

That being said, the girl who posted that originally is nothing but a shit-starting idiot.

PS: Sony has her covered.

I find it amusing that this is what the Microsoft thread has become.

Anita Sarkeesian (or however you spell her name, not looking it up) is a f*cking troll who persuaded a bunch of white-knights to hand her money for a 12-part shaming series. And the best part is, she's not even doing the 12 she promised in the Kickstarter; she's only doing one more part for a total of 3.

There's no grand conspiracy to keep women out of gaming. But women who expect the gaming culture to bend to their particular whims need to shut the f*ck up and go away. Or start building their own games like the MEN who founded this industry did and make them successful.

By the way, Tomb Raider was awesome.

You know, I can certainly see why 'feminists' (it's a stretch calling some of these people that, what a gross misrepresentation they are) have a beef with gender representation. But it DOES apply to men as well, whether they'd want to admit it or not.

Take for instance Gears of War. Every man is a hulking monstrosity whereas the women look like... human beings. I can't recall anyone throwing a fit over that besides its 'art direction.' I'd also like to point out the irony in that the male-dominated developer made the male and female characters equal in roles (ground troops in war, and otherwise) in the games. Yet when we got Gears novels, written by a woman, we were introduced to 'breeding camps' where women are hoarded for forced pregnancies, something I could never see the game developer coming up with.

Also, I find it funny that the developers of Tomb Raider made Lara Croft more realistic looking, while the developers of Mortal Kombat made all the female characters into butt ugly caricatures of women. Look at the last Mortal Kombat game... after eight games, suddenly Sonya gained ten cup sizes, loses her shirt, gets dolled in make up, and wears high heels. On a military personnel in the middle of a mission. Who's never been that way before. What was that about?

I don't think that Syn was trying to defend the feminist Anita as much as he was about the comments that she painstakingly and individually (and pointlessly) screen cap'd, cropped, uploaded, and posted. She'd get the exact same comments on your youtube videos if ever she didn't turn commenting off.

The reason she does so is because she knows just as well as us that she'll get the exact same response because that's exactly what she elicits. She make up trouble where there is none, and wonders why people rage at her. Are the comments nice? No. But you reap what you sow.

You can't get online? Well, just stick with your 360 since you don't have what you need to play on our new machine. Mattrick seems to be a very abrasive character. Doesn't seem to know how to connect very well with consumers.

The one thing that will convince me to buy an Xbox One is a GOOD Battletoads reboot.

I wouldnt care about DRM, kinect, or even the weird looks I'd get for purchasing a console soley for one digital game.

I want my Battletoads, dammit!

I wholeheartedly believe that is perfectly acceptable and should be on every single system.

Not even sarcasm.

If you play online games and are a complete piece of sh*t, you deserve your toys taken away.

It may well be the best good behavior promoting decision in modern gaming history.

As many people questioned on Twitter, why not Windows 8? Heck, Windows 8 is what one of the Xbox One's operating systems is based on. Opting for Windows 7 during E3 seems like Microsoft may not have had the confidence in their latest OS to put on the show they required or demo the games in the best of light.

Xbox One will run on a modified AMD GPU that, according to Extreme Tech, is on the level of a mid-ranged Radeon 7790. I guess the 7790 wasn't powerful enough for the Xbox One's E3 games eh? They needed a real manly card like the GTX 780, eh?

I don't care if a bunch of suckers buy the Xbone at launch. One the crap starts happening to them, word of mouth is gonna spread quickly and the Xbone will ultimately fail.

You know, I agree. I guess I was looking at it from the standpoint of "what if it happened to me?" Though I don't ever see how that would actually come to pass. Though I'm sure there will be people out there who share systems or share accounts and is going to get someone kicked off their system and away from their games. And that's very unfair. But ultimately, I won't be owning one of these pieces of crap, so it makes little difference.
