Okay, so I just happened across this vid on Youtube showing the film Now and Then in its entire length.

I only watched this movie as a child because of my huge embarrassing crush on Christina Ricci at the time (the girl who played Wednesday Adams), so I figured I would hate it now as an adult.

But, eh, is aight so far. It's kind of cute.


Oh, wow. Ricci just faked drowning to see if her three best friends would be willing to give her mouth to mouth in order to save her, and in angry retaliation at the joke the chubby red-head gave her a hard right cross. .... And now they're all crowded around Brandon Fraser in fascination as his character shares a smoke with them and he tells them all old war stories. .... This is getting weird.

Well then, no cute girls my age at my new place of employment (which on one hand is good since it would be dangerous to ask them out - sexual harassment policies and all), but I am not afraid to say that two older women who work with me are unusually attractive for their age. Not that I'm going to ask them out or anything; that's weird. One of the other female chemists, Cindy, admitted to being forty-seven years old one day while I worked with her in the microbiology lab, and I seriously thought she couldn't be a day over thirty-five. I must say it's odd how some ladies seem so flattered when you say they look younger than they really are.

Ok, so I'm not as excited about my job as I used to be. I have been feeling a lot of hostility from both students and teachers. One of the teachers, after asking my help to prepare a field trip to the rain forest, decided to exclude me from the field trip and get teachers from another grade to help her. What did I do? I still don't know, but apparently I'm also her favorite subject when it comes to bashing someone behind their back.
So much for that feeling of being part of a big, happy family.

Sort of. This is my first year as a teacher, but I've been working at this school for 3 years. And while the teacher that seems to have an issue with me is new, she almost has a doctorate degree.
Anyway my worry is more on a professional level since she has been talking negatively about me to the principal and I really want to stay at this school next year. But meh. Maybe it IS time for me to search other options, just in case.

Today is on of those days where I wouldn't mind a hug. I ran out of optimism today!

If you have a smartphone, I would suggest getting the app called "Flipboard". It is a nice little hub to get news on varying topics, including gaming, tech, and science. I've actually found some stories that can make good podcast material, and other things that are just interesting.

I also checked Twitter this morning, and Chucklefish is apparently advocating a very pro-Let's Play stance in light of the whole takedowns thing some companies do. I know this doesn't affect us- but recently Nintendo has begun a huge monetized LP shakedown of their first party games. So attention has finally been drawn to the issue of Let's Plays and fair use. I just hope that maybe, just maybe this will be the thing in which LPing is finally settled as permitted, or at least that more companies will just come out in favor of any kind of LP. As to why- my old channel got entirely shut down for showing off the intro video to the PSO2 beta(that had already been released weeks prior), and other people's beta gameplay footage that followed their provisions were also issued copyright strikes that are account-destroyers. And they weren't even monetized!

Yay! Cyber hugs! Today I feel like I need to hit someone tho. Teachers have pretty much skipped work days for different lies (I mean, reasons) so I have had to cover between 4 and 6 classes the past 4 days. Me and another assistant have been working like crazy and we have both been sick. She's probably not coming today so I'm probably covering the classes she was supposed to cover. (But at least she is legitimately sick and is cool gal)
The only things that keeps me going (besides a bit of anger) is that we are a week away from finishing (well, the kids are.) We work until the end of June)
