Dunno how many of you saw the Final Fantasy 9 video I released a few weeks back. Was trying out an idea for a new video series talking about my progress in my games, and it became more of an overview than a quick update. I decided that enough people liked the idea that I'd turn it into a show, which I have called "Diet Dray".

There's two videos so far. The first would be the "pilot" where I was mainly just testing out the idea, and the second is where I took things a bit more seriously. I'll be bouncing back and forth between the two games I featured. I'd appreciate any comments and constructive criticism.

I saw the WoW video, Dray, and it was great, and well edited. And that intro is clicking awesome.

I just uploaded a fix to the WoW video. Feel free to re-comment and/or re-Like. =P

After doing some thinking, I may be in a little over my head. You see, I just spent all week creating a 40-minute script covering Final Fantasy 9 from Alexandria Castle to the Village of Dali (that's how much I've played since the initial video). Seeing how long this script is is overwhelming. Not only did it take forever to write, but I just know it's gonna take forever to edit in all the relevant clips. I had hoped that doing these "Diet Dray" videos would go faster than a let's play, since I only let's play an hour of gameplay each week. Instead it feels like it's taking longer.

I tried cutting down the script, but there's so much about the game I want to talk about. It's the let's player in me, I guess. Let's playing this would be a lot easier. But I can't do an LP of FF9 because I'm busy with let's plays of other games, and I don't want to take away the opportunity for Lantis and SK to do a co-op LP of it.

Oh, and of course I also wanna continue talking about World of Warcraft.

Really not sure what to do about the situation. But I'm pretty sure I'll have to drop "Diet Dray" in its current form, if not entirely. It's eating way too much into my free time.

There is no rule that two LPers from the same community can't LP the same game. If you wanted to do FF9, by all means dude.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If someone can't bring something unique to an LP, there's no point anyways. I'd love to see other people's takes on Breath of Fire III for example. I need to finish mine, but I more than likely use different characters and have the game mean something different to me from childhood.

Hm, yeah, I might go ahead and pounce on FF9 now, then. Maybe. Not sure. As for WoW, I might still go ahead and do Diet Drays for those. I play WoW infrequently, so it won't be as big a deal if I don't update it that much.

Edit. After doing some thinking, I've decided that I'm not really confident enough to keep an LP like FF9 interesting. My biggest worries are the exploration areas. So in my case, it's probably best left as a "Diet Dray" runthrough. But not at the same time as WoW. Maybe after WoW.
