Each year has always felt better than the last. Not really because of anything other than just really getting use to and enjoying everyone's company.

Though the only suggestion I have for making it better is finding a setup with a capture device so we can record video and our auido without having to use a camera. I mean, we'd still have to use a camera for skits or openings, yes. But that blur when changing screens, resizing, and the problem we had with this year's decathlon is really kind of lame. I'm sure that if we had a decent mic, we could set that to the default audio device and we'd be good to go. Though as for what capture device to use... I have no idea.

If I make it to MagCon next year, I can bring my capture device with me. It'll only do the SD components, but that's good enough for the decathlon. I don't suppose an HD one is required. If don't make it next year (though I'm hoping to), I can let you guys borrow it. It's a pretty good one.

Well first off. Lantis needs to complete the furry transformation next year and...

Okay, kidding. :p

I agree on the capture thing. It's usually not a huge deal to set up, and it'd be cool to also use the web cam at the same time like we talked about... on a different stand obviously, but then you could use the free version of xSplit and kinda have both displays going so people and squirrel can still pop in and give some RL presence to the thing.

Two, I think Ruby Falls was really fun! I'm not saying to do that again next year, but maybe we could check out Rock City or the Aquarium instead. I also vote we make that a Friday activity to try and somewhat avoid massive amounts of families and children since they'd have school on a Friday. Sunday is usually a very packed day for stuff like aquariums and zoos, etc. Sunday would be a very cool chill-down day. Maybe more focus on videos and cards and stuff that day, so people can rest for the trek home. That being said... I don't regret RF in the slightest. It was some of the most fun I've had in a long time.

Dray also mentioned Starbucks, which is on the mall road and not far at all. PG and I had wanted to sit there for a little bit as well, but never did. Maybe one night, we can do a small group thing at their cafe. They have this HUGE sitting area with like laptop outlets and stuff, and it's a open air table setup. I know not everyone likes coffee, but you can get a ton of drinks without coffee.:p

Other than that, it was amazing fun. I hadn't had a real vacation in forever, and it reminded me of the best parts of hanging out with friends at say... an anime con or something. With much less people, which honestly bothers me in no way. I mean... the elevator was usually empty, and that was a cozy thing instead of having to cram in with people every single time, and avoiding props to be considerate and stuff. I honestly did prefer this kind of low-key thing instead of going to something like PAX simply because it was so chill.

PG also enjoyed it immensely. I think she was nervous kinda like me, but you all are wonderful and we had a blast. She is already talking about making a reservation ASAP when it comes up next year, and getting a room much closer or at least on the same floor. I am also quite excited.

For anyone considering going- the hotel itself is freaking amazing as well. Tori was the manager that checked us in, and she was super polite and amazing when we extended our stay(we did so because things changed with PG's mom so that we didn't have to be back ASAP). One time I went down to get coffee, and the machine was empty in the lobby. An older guy was like "You should go complain!" and I honestly hope he was kidding since there was an elderly woman working by herself at night, and two, you don't demand coffee by being a butt. I didn't catch the name of that desk employee, but she was kind and refilled the lobby coffee for me upon asking... even though it was super late for that sort of thing on a Sunday night. This hotel is also kinda known in the area as the "cookie" hotel with fresh-baked cookies being placed by the coffee in the lobby. They made me like chocolate chip! Even the Domino's guy was like "Aw, there's usually cookies here!" when they were out, to give an idea.

Speaking of cookies. I am going to make way more next year, and I apologize that they ran out so quickly. I also apologize that there was only one flavor. Next year, I am going to just bake and freeze them throughout the week, and then have a massive amount to bring. I am thinking of doing three kinds- chocolate chip, salted white chocolate chip, and oatmeal raisin. :D

Lastly, thanks for the great time once again. I am still a bit exhausted from being a bit sick and the trip, but it was so worth it. If you haven't come yet, you owe it to yourself to come hang out and have fun.

Also, I think I need to work on my freestyling to take down Cheeto. Lawl.

Also, a question for those not at the event- did you enjoy the Google Hangout streaming?

The streaming was fine albeit a few disconnections but that was due to hotel Internet. Overall it was a great community event and must've been a blast for the Magonians that went. Capture card is a good idea for MagCon 2014.

Seeing the live playthrough of Bon's Dorito Dash was awesome, and at times kinda intense (Doritopia section). Mrevelle's game was great and captured a good desolate atmosphere.

I'll definitely be at MagCon 2014.

Other than wishing I could have gotten my second demo in (and avoided glitches in the one I DID send in), it was great. It is a good idea to use the Hangout, and I hope you all keep doing that for future Cons.

I think the best part of Magcon is obvious:

How did you create that picture?

Also, while the thought of squid ink soda sounds disgusting, it's actually considered a delicacy.

Good ol' photoshop. I google'd a random background, a squid, and a separate ink cloud and just jazzed it up a bit. Skewed it to make it fit the shape of a 12-pack, and Bob's your uncle.

Ah.

I guess what I was really wanting to know is if any of that is copyrighted. Since we can all consider that the canon Dr. Squizz design. :P

lol, to the best of my knowledge, no. If you wanted to use it, by all means... though I'm not sure how much use you'll get out of it.
