I saw a link to Fox and was like "Oh here it goes again."

I was pleasantly wrong.

I find it interesting to think that many parents still don't know what that big fat "M" on the front of certain game boxes are for.

It all boils down to that video games don't turn people into killers. People who are already in the mindset to kill just so happen to like playing video games with guns in them.

It's like saying that EA's Madden series turns people into football players. Which is retarded. They play those games because they area already football fans.

Yeah, video games were and always have been an easy target to blame when a tragedy like a shooting occurs. It's such a tricky subject, sure you could say CoD affected some clucked up guy to go on a killing spree but just because he played CoD doesn't mean CoD is the smoking gun. There are a lot of variables to consider. Personal issues, family issues, etc.

It's irresponsible to disregard it entirely. I know we don't want people taking away vidya, but it is a part of the larger whole of the problem. No, not every person who plays an FPS will go on a mass-murder, but there is some correlation(not causation, and those are two hugely different things).

I earnestly appreciate people doing research into this. OSU did some sort of study a while back.

But essentially, I am of the belief that many problems make for the perfect storm. I'm more upset that people are labeling anyone who has clinical depression or anxiety as a mass murderer... a crusade against people, a witch hunt for what someone can't control? I think that's pretty bad. They won't be taking away our video games anytime soon.
