Nintendo Power is gone, but in its place Nintendo Force will have you covered.

Honestly, I think this is a mistake.

I think this sounds like a pretty cool little idea.

I also think it's disgusting that in the comments, people are all like "OMG TOKEN WOMAN OMG"

If you know of Mother, you know of the clay figures in the series. And you should also know said woman, who has a name- Camille Young.

http://camilleart.com/

She is responsible for single-handedly creating every piece of custom Mother 3 models that appear in the fan-guide. She is a huge fan of Nintendo as well- and that shines through her clay art. They didn't even say what capacity she'd be in the thing, but I'd like to hear some of her thoughts on things- and see some more of that glorious custom clay art in the articles.

Also, I gotta include her Geno: http://www.fangamer.net/products/stardoll
http://camilleart.com/2011/05/31/%E2%99 ... /#more-328
And the Mother 3: http://camilleart.com/2009/03/28/mother ... k/#more-26

What this sounds like to me is, a bunch of games journalists were truly inspired by Nintendo Power, and decided to carry that spirit on. IT's kind of like making a fan game for a beloved series that has moved on.

I agree with everything you said, and I think the website will be a success. The issue I have is that they are making a print magazine. It's tough for print these days. Especially since it will be a month behind the times.

That is true. At least they will have their online form to fall back on.

Though, with how much love there is for Nintendo print, it may work. They have a ton of requests on FB asking where to subscribe. I personally prefer print, but I think the only way to make it work in this day and age is to have an online version of the magazine to subscribe to alongside print to help fund it. Y'know, since a PDF doesn't cost money to print and ship, but the sales can help the magazine out.

A magazine that doesn't understand digital makes for a very bad thing. It was like that at my internship(at a magazine, incidentally). They were ooing and awwing at an iPad, and didn't know much beyond print. And that's probably a part of the reason why I came into that place as people were being laid off, making for a not-the-best environment.

Someone better pick of that phone...

Because I freaking called it.

Seriously. In the last Magcast when we were talking about Nintendo Power. Holy hell I didn't think it would be this soon though.

I think this is great, I never had the opportunity to enjoy NP and all of it's nostalgia but I'm ready for this spiritual successor especially now that I have a brand new Nintendo console. I'll support this 100%

Will it fail? I can't answer that, like Fay said this could work. I'm hoping for good content and the team behind it looks promising

So I bought the first issue of NF! I got the print one, and used a code from the Facebook page to bump the cost down to $13 or so. It's a specialty to print(especially in how bad the magazine economy is). However, with that being said- digital magazines have never been so popular due to the iPad and various other tablets making that the preferred method to read publications.

I got a free digital copy with my print order, and I have got to say- the magazine looks fantastic. It looks even better than modern NP. The writing is top-notch, and the Fire Emblem cover for this month looks awesome as well. I hope they keep this up!

I just want to know why they didn't just continue Nintendo Power and "upgrade" it to this format. I think having an online format for Nintendo Power would have been pretty awesome thing. It makes the whole Nintendo Power ending thing really kind of stupid only to immediately start up another magazine.
