Bomberman: Miscalculating your own bombs' fire power.
Donkey Kong Country: Jumping in water to avoid the lightning stikes
Super Mario Bros: Death by first goomba in World 1-1

I know that the King's Quest series is freakin infamous for killing you in the dumbest ways possible.

Something similar happened to me, once.

I know this topic has been left off for two weeks but I see potential here if I can just get it going again and begin a list, as Guar suggested.


Let's see, dumb ways I've died ....

Threads of Fate: On my first time through, not understanding I just had to sit tight for a few moments when Wylaf the Dragon told me to put my weapons up and stop fighting him. I thought there must be some button I had to press or something to get him talking again, so I attacked him by accident and it pissed him off so much he burned Mint to ashes. Holy crap ....


Resident Evil 4: Shot my gun into the water at the lake (before getting into the boat) to see if I could piss off the monster who dwelt within. ... It did.

Also: Many RPGs
Deciding to attack a boss instead of healing because you know he'll die with that attack. But he doesn't (or you miss)
