Robocop is one of my all time favorite movies, and no, the sequels NEVER happened. This, however, I'm conflicted with. The suit doesn't look THAT bad even if it still reminds me of Batman.

Looks like the dude from Crysis with black armor instead of an iconic suit like this:

To me, it looks fairly similar... just black. The helmet still allows for the majority of the mouth to be seen and has the Cyclops style visor. So no problem from this corner.

based on that one guy's analysis of an early script, it seems that the movie kind of revolves around Robocop's outfit constantly changing, starting from a suit that looks almost identical to the original Robocop (which apparently is changed because someone in the film says that he looks like the toy from the 80s), up to what is known as Robocop 4.0.

I don't have links, but it should be easy enough to find with a google search, though I'm not sure how much I trust that this guy actually read the script.
