I said the control room, not the building that you made a video of.

Oh sorry, the control room was actually closer than the engineering building. It was the first pair of pictures I posted yesterday. It was in a MUCH worse condition. And while there were people in there... they weren't harmed. Scared, but not hurt.

Oh, the pair with the collapsed wall. Yeah, that would scare the crap out of me.

Yeah, that was actually the entrance to the control room. It had a flight of stairs going to the second floor. I'm still browsing some pictures to see if I can find a picture of that place before the blast.

So I wanted to give a bit of an update. Things have been really busy here. Lot of things have been dying here and there. One of them being the main switch that fed the entire site. I was up here till 9 one night trying to get the plant back online. That was super fun. Still finding problematic hardware here and there. Getting them all replaced hasn't been easy.

But that doesn't bug me. What does bug me is all the insurance representatives running around the site. You see, this is an INSANELY large insurance claim. So there's inspectors, investigators, and what not all here checking out everything. And you know what they are doing, right? Their single purpose of being here is finding out exactly how little money they can get away with paying for this. You know, despite us having paid an ungodly amount of money over the course of the past several years. Honestly, I think they should be paying for it and serving us coffee while they do it... and be happy about it. I can't think of another business that would get away with this kind of BS. Like, what if you went to like, Olive Garden or something and when you ordered your food, they put as little time as possible and gave you as small of portion as they thought they could get away with. It shouldn't work that way.

But even worse than that, while I have enough work on my hands to keep me busy for longer than I need, I have to help them. I've already wired up three of these temp trailers for these yuppies. And while I'm sitting here working on networking issues, I get calls from these jerks because they can't figure out their damn scanner. So I have to help them with their "prolems" so that they can do their job of paying us the least amount of money for the service we've been paying them for... for years.

It really got under my skin this morning when I was walking into work at literally 8:02 and one of got my attention to say "I wish I was working in IT so I could come into work late." I replied, "Try working past 9PM... I don't think they'll care if you're a few seconds late to work."

Jerks.

Yep, sounds like a jerk to me. The whole insurance business has a sourness to it I don't like.

This pretty much. It gets even worse with health insurance and serious problems.
