Sony's conference is about to start.

It has started. They showed some kind of promo reel with some type of FPS. Actually, it's more of a hodgepodge of things that the PS family of game consoles can do. I just saw a screen for The Last of Us and PlayStation All-Stars.

It seems like Sony's trying to put the focus on games first and formost. I guess they saw what happened at Microsoft's conference, huh?

And they're actually showing a wide variety of games, too. It's actually quite well-balanced when it comes to the genres, which has stood out to me very much. Good intro.

Jack Tretton is taking the stage. Seems pretty happy. Mentions people lined up at 4 pm yesterday to start doing stuff.

Oh, he's diggin' into Microsoft a little bit. Saying that everything he says is gonna be graded and critiqued and all that.

Thanking all the gamers for supporting them over the years. You can visit the PS E3 Booth at Playstation Home.

Now he's inviting Kaz Hirai to the stage. Actually, just giving him a shout out.

He's about to show the first IP.

The first game is from Quantic Deam, makers of Heavy Rain. He invited David Cage to the stage to talk about their next game. The new project is called Beyond.

What will happen when we die? It seems that this game is going to explore this. Jodie's is played out over 15 years. This seems to be pretty interesting.

Ellen Page will be playing the main character in the game. And now the trailer for the game. Everything running in real time.

Starts out in a police station. Jodie was found on the side of the road. The Sheriff is trying to talk to her but she isn't talking at all. It seems like she can see ghosts or something. Something paranormal is going on, definitely. She has a scar on her back.

And now there's a swat team looking for the girl. Holy crap, is this serious? Helicopters, people being set on fire, the whole nine yards is happening here. Apparently, Jodie has some type of psychic ability or helpers?

Video end.

Good stuff. Nice applause.

It will be emotional, mature, unique. They want to create unique moments players carry with them forever.

Now they're about to show off PlayStation All-Stars. In the silhouettes, I saw Sweet Tooth, Jak and Daxter, and some others. Apparently, it's gonna be on Vita and cross-compatible with the PS3 version.

You can have people on the Vitas and the PS3 and fight.

Characters so far: Kratos, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth, Sly Cooper...and more. Wow, this game is almost a carbon copy of Smash Brothers. Not just in idea but even the way it animates seems like Smash. There are levels of supers in this game, so that's something that's unique about it.

But it's pretty much just Smash.

Oh, two new characters....who are they? Is my Bingo going off?

Big Daddy and Nathan Drake are in. I think that counts.

Tretton is back on stage. You can cross-save and cross-play between Vita and PS3. It comes out this year!

They're gonna give cross-controller DLC for LittleBigPlanet 2 that will let them mess with that functionality, apparently.

Now he's talking up PS Network. Journey is the best-selling PSN game of all time.

He mentioned some other games for PSN and mentioned that 200 more games are gonna be out in the next 12 months.

Now he's talking about Playstation Plus. This month, PSN+ users will be able to download. For free? I don't know.

And he gave everyone in the audience a 1-year free voucher for Playstation Plus. Wow, they got it covered for foreigners, too. Really pumping up the PSN.

60 PS Vita games are coming to the system.

PSVs will be able to play PS1 classics, too, liek Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy 7.

Hulu Plus and Crackle are gonna be on it, too.

They'll have a 15 million-strong catalog of music to put on your Vita or whatnot.

Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified is coming to PS Vita. You can play online, and all that jazz.

They're showing an Ubisoft game.

Oh wow, Assassin's Creed 3 is coming to PS Vita! And it's looking mighty good, too. It's called Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation. It's built from the ground-up for Vita and features the first female assassin in the series. It will also have cross-play capabilty.

Crystal-colored Wi-fi Vita is coming inside of a bundle. Ubisoft is really helping them out. They're about to show some AC3 footage. Invited two French developers to the stage.

They're showing some of the sea-faring stuff of the American Revolution.

They're having a sea battle and you're in control of the ship. Not bad at all.

After getting close enough, it's time to board the ship and get to killin'. End trailer.

Tretton is back on stage. It's gonna be a AC3 PS3 Bundle. They are really bunking with Ubisoft.

Now there's some FarCry 3 news. Four-player co-op for FarCry 3.

Haha, one of their partners went down and the main-screen guy left him, but another teamie went and picked him up. And the bridge blew up.

So FarCry has a full single player campaign AND a different Co-op campaign. Damn. Hats off to Ubisoft!

And you will get free FarCry DLC if you get it on PSN. ;)

Now he's talking about the PS Move.

He mentions that games like Bioshock Infinite, LBP Karting, etc will be usable with the Move.

Andy House, new President of SCEA, has taken the stage to talk about...stuff.

Showing a trailer about some kid. He wonders what if he could change the world or something. Smething called Wonderbook? It's a physical book, but you can interact with it with Augmented Reality technology. It seems like it'll be a nice tool to help kids get into reading and such.

Moonbot Studios is making something for it. Diggs Nightcrawler is the game they're talking about. No information for it quite yet. J. K. Rowling is confirmed to be making something for Wonderbook called "Book of Spells". They are really pimping this thing. It's so out of left field, it's crazy, though.

So they're gonna use the PS Move along with the Wonderbook to make the game experience. You control the actions that happen in the game with the book and the wand.

I'm sorry, this is really boring to me. And Sony was on such a roll, too. But they gotta pay the bills somehow.

Now talking about the PlayStation Suite info. It's open platform, etc.

HTC is gonna be the first PlayStation Certified smartphone out there. They're renaming the PlayStation Suite into PlayStation Mobile. Go figure.

And now he's gone and Tretton is back.

He's about to announce a new game in a franchise. A sneak peek at this game. Oh snap, new God of War game!

What is Kratos up to now? Is it a prequel? Kratos has to face a couple big and uglies. He still has his chains, though, so I'm guessing it has to be after he made the initial deal with Ares---oops, I mean ARRRRRRRREEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Seems like standard GOW gameplay, which is A-OK by me.

In the distance, a giant sea creature crushes the hell out of a boat. And Kratos has some type of object that can briefly reverse time for him to transverse the world. Too bad Kratos is too much of a dick to help out the people who just got killed in front of him. Lol. The monster is now trying to attack him. It looks like some type of octopus.

And then a statue just came ot life and wants to pick a fight with Kratos. Why would you do that, statue? This man kills GODS.

Now a huge elephant warrior wants to start sh*t with him. That's damn stupid if you ask me. Kratos ends up completely f*cking him up. Multiple stab wounds to the head and the elephant is dead. And f*cking Kratos jumps into the water. To stab the huge underwater creature.

March 12, 2013: God of War Ascension.

New game is being shown. Oh cool, The Last of Us is now being shown. Gameplay this time.

The world looks like a complete end-of-the-world dump. As expected of a zombie apocalypse.

The game is moodily lit and the guy on stage playing it is too. Cool. They're just exploring right now. The old man and the girl.

They've come across some people talking, but they don't know whether to talk to them or not. Actually, nevermind, he just choked that guy to death. I guess they're bad guys. The guy has a fistfight with a guy who has a pipe.

I love it. He was about to get shot but the girl character is like "hey asshole!" which distracts him and allows the player to take out the psycho. People clapped at that part.

Then he has a fight with a guy who has a shotgun with his fist. Your girl companion helps A LOT. She stabbed a guy who grabbed the main character, then he hopped up and shot the guy in the face with his shotgun, holy sh*t. Everyone clapped.

Tretton came out and said it was a mind-blowing example of the power of PlayStation. Haha. Amazing. The conference is now drawing down.

This is how to close a conference, Microsoft. And it's over.

Sony was smart to focus on games.

also, notice they are trying to match the Wii U Pad and SmartGlass by having the vita connect to PS3 for a secondary screen? Definitely late to the game and they only have one game that will attempt it. They obviously had not worked on this as long as the others already have. They can still catch up with the PS4/Vita though.

Heavy Rain was an amazing experience. And that's really rare coming from me as the gameplay was nothing more than a series of quick-time events.

I'm going to have to try out Quantic Deam. Also, the PSP legally and normally supporting PS1 titles gets major props from me.

And I'll definitely been playing Assassain's Creed. I'm invested in the story thus far, and I don't want to miss out now.

God of War. Don't really need to say much more.

I'll probably be interested in Last of Us. Specially if it will wash the taste of Dead Island out of my mouth.

I'm just a little upset they didn't mention Ni No Kuni. That game is by far the best thing they could have shown. But as for what they did show, I'm pleased. Very little of caused me to be bored or apathetic.
