I might sign up just to respond to the topic. I'd be interested for the side-view battle system. I know it's possible to create one using the Ruby scripting stuff, and there's lots of sample scripts for such a thing, but I really don't like to mess with Ruby. Not to mention I'd have to go on the hunt for graphics that work with the custom system. So it'd be awesome to have a Maker where that stuff is available out of the box.

It's pretty late to make 2k3 legal. Like nearly 10 years too late. The newer RMs are much better at the job. Like someone said in the thread, it would just be for nostalgia purposes now.

Actually, for those who did pirate it and did spend the hundreds of hour of work making a game, it would be nice to be able to release it without worry of legal issue.

The only thing it would have over the newer makers is the side view battle system. Why that's even a big deal is beyond me.

I will admit, compared to RPGM1, RM2K3 looks rather visually dated. And I'm sure the music's the same way.

I HIGHLY doubt they're going to release and localize 2003. I think honestly they just want people to buy the graphic and music resources from that game(apparently, they're starting with offering RPGM3's entire OST for Ace and whatnot). It would've been awesome, and I'll sign the petition, just doubtful.

The only thing stopping it from actually happening is the lackluster signature count on the petition so far.

I'll sign, I probably won't buy. Their admin really grated me the wrong way. Don't feel like buying anymore from them because of that for a long while- that and Ace is enough money in the hole for RPGM this year.:X

Number 131(I don't like using my real name on this sort of stuff, so). If they pull through, they'd be an awesome company. Then it's just a matter of pricing and time to try and forget about someone's ignorance, that pretty much has depressed me for about a week. Maybe in 2013(Though, that's mainly a money issue, and where they price it at. I cannot help myself).

Well, it wasn't related to RM2k3. I posted about it in the off-topic thread. Just... ugh. I imagine they're not paying him much anyways- I don't want to put money in his pocket. Which is a shame, since most people on the official forums are cool. I'll probably get it like I said, but it just sucks being on the official forums of anything(especially game-wise) since that kinda junk always happens.

Yeah, but not in that sense of a... AH. Better term! Company forums. The Blizzard forums, EA forums(I don't envy anyone modding those- they have a lot of the same problems that I encountered with bigotry, etc on the official RPGM PC forums... at least it wasn't from an actual mod I guess in their case, though), and most recently, the RPG Maker PC forums. It's the forums at the site where you can buy the product. From what I've heard though, Agetec's actually forums were/are alright.

But that is usually the place where you will see the most people trying to be "edgy", trolling, etc etc.

It is a trainwreck though, that mods were engaging in that. And then backpedaled at the speed of light later when other mods, and regular users called them on their crap. I don't expect the place to be a safe space, but I am unsure on giving money to a company in which people discussed same-sex relationships, trans*, and having non-white characters in their games maturely in a forum thread, and then a mod and the freaking forum admin come in and start yelling "STOP TRYING TO TELL US WHAT TO PUT IN OUR GAMES! WE DON'T WANNA BREAK SOCIETY!" as a response to people talking about what they were doing in their own games, not telling others to do so or die. At least a partially good dialogue came from it from the rational people in the thread.

I'll move on, I'll get over it- it happened two days ago. Gotta forgive, they don't know what the heck they're doing, and so, I try to keep it in mind.

Like I mentioned though- the guy can go get bent, one. Two, I'm an RPG Maker fan, and I know that a lot of the money more than likely goes to the actual Japanese company, and that mods here are about like the situation that's on the SEGA forums. So, the question truly becomes price point and the "When/if" release, for the budget.

Like that holds any weight anymore anyway. Agetec probably forgot what the console makers are.

Agetec doesn't even really release... that many games any more sadly. I loved what they did have back in the day.

I was also kinda thinking it, but it's just more that the Console RPGM games have stopped coming out as well. So it kinda defeated all that.D:

The new future will be fine considering that. The amount of passion in this community beats most.

Probably why Ix is planning on making the site less focused on RPGM specifically for V6.

This is hearsay since I don't have an official link, but it's said that if somehow this pulls through it'll be $20. That isn't bad at all. I thought they were going to try and pull $40-50.
