It should be the same rules as DKC1. The games pretty much play the same, anyway.

That's okay, it's really only the winner who really gets to finish the game, anyway. All other positions are called once the half-hour period ends.

Anyway, DKC2 sounds good to me. I'm actually fairly decent at it, so maybe I'll have a better chance at winning.

Just an FYI, I've been trying to finangle with this here HyperCam 2 into recording videos without worrying about audio desync. Took a bit of effort and the installation of a different video codec, but I may have just found the magical setting. I'll have to do a full test, but that will wait until after I get some sleep.

The problem with having so many people is going to be finding a time to get us all online at the same time and free for long enough to finish the entire game. Also, the maximum we'll ever be able to race with will be 6. And if it ever gets to that point, I won't be able to use any of the screen for information on who's playing what screen. I'll have to just put the names right on top of the screen for a few seconds before the race starts each video and just hope viewers remember. I mean, I can also put it in the description, but you know. I'll just have to see what I can do.

Or you could do one of those annotations that pops up text when you hover over the box.

I made a mockup, but it's not exact or anything in dimensions. There's a lot less bang in the BG area, but I think the linking should be doable. And the little gray boxes by names would be mini-profile icons, but since it's a mockup... they get to be gray boxes from pure lazy.

I can definitely see where getting people together, and also, making sure the audio is synced for commentary to make sense would get a lot more challenging.:X

I can definately say that not only am I good to go with not-desync, but thanks to a HyperCam2 fluke that Syn pointed out, I can also record at a higher framerate. (In case you're wondering, the fluke is that having the "Show rectangle" option UNchecked but the "blink rectangle" checked somehow makes it run better.)

In Hypercam 3, you only see the rectangle before you record. It completely turns off during recording and pops back up after you stop. I actually kind of prefer it that way, now.

Oh, and also, I don't know if it's the new codec I'm using or the absence of the rectangle thing, but the recording takes a LOT less memory, now.

I've got a 5-minute video I recorded before that is at 250MB. A 5-minute test video I did just now is more like 90MB. Maybe that was part of the issue I had before. The recording was being all nomnomnom and couldn't swallow all the memory it was trying to eat.

So if we want to get this race in before Magcon, we either need to do it tomorrow or next weekend.

I can do any of them.

So, any recommendations on where to upload files larger than 200MB? Because all five videos I recorded are looking to reach that size, and I'd rather not split every single one of them into halves just because I'm 15MB over limit at MediaFire.

There's Filesend, Rapidshit--I mean Rapidshare, or even photobucket, I believe. I'll try something out and get back to you.

Edit: I'm trying something out called FileFactory. You can register for free and hold up to 500 GB of stuff on it. Doesn't seem like there's a one upload file size limit. You can try that. I'll let you know how the upload goes later or you can go ahead and try it yourself.
