So, I was just doing a search for instructions on how to properly go about reformatting a hard drive and starting from a clean slate.

....Yeah, I think I'm skrewed.

Oh, it's honestly not that bad:

Put DVD in your DVD rom.

Restart computer.

Then just follow all the on-screen instructions.

And you can also give me a call while your doing it if you'd like me to talk you through it.

Every source I can find says that I need all the drivers and installation programs and stuff that was used to build my computer. Even instructions specific to Windows 7. And I'm told my computer may not have come with all the stuff I need to do that. Plus, Microsoft's web site says that I should make recovery disks, but they should be early backups that way I wouldn't carry over bad drivers and stuff like that. And "bad drivers" is exactly what my issue is.

Well yeah, that's assuming Windows doesn't have a huge ass driver database. They kind of have to say that so they aren't held accountable when you can't get your computer back up to the way it was. I've installed Windows 7 a multitude of times now (at home and at work) and there were no instances where I needed drivers, recovery disks, or any of that jazz. Just the programs you want to reinstall on your computer and your files that you backed up before hand. The only time I needed drivers is if they were for very unique pieces of hardware that windows developers wouldn't have thought to include in the driver database. It's not as big of ordeal as you are thinking, promise.

Well then, if you wanna help me out sometime today, that would be nice. I just gotta make sure I finish backing up a few files before I start. (But I swear, we better not experience another one of life's plot twists and find that something in my machine actually DOES require a file I don't have. )

Well, with Lantis's help, I managed to solve the issue of the corrupted driver and have installed a fresh copy of 64-bit Windows 7. So I install the capture device's driver, and when I plug it in, Windows is all "WTF is this getitoutgetitoutgetitout" like it was before. >_< So, it looks like I'm going to have to go on the hunt for another capture device, AGAIN.

Alright, I have recieved my newest capture device, and it installed properly. How well does it work? I am not entirely sure. The thing comes with an obnoxiously short USB cord, and it doesn't work properly with a USB extension cord. I plugged my camera into it, and it does seem to work if the device is plugged directly to my computer, but my game consoles cannot reach it. So I'm going to have to buy some extra not-USB cables before I can finally LP some console games again.

Might be a bit. I'm making a map of all the cables and components I currently have, and I've been considering rearranging my living room, so I am not 100% sure what I need to get. In the meantime, I may or may not do another PC RPGM game. Now would be a good time to finally get around to doing Ryner's game, but at the same time, I'm currently dealing with a Mario RPG hack with Lantis, and the free time would allow me to finally have one less let's play on my "active LPs" list. Although the fact that Lantis's internet provider is currently sucking doesn't help.

Kinda sad that my last post was the beginning of November and yet this topic is still almost at the top of the list.

Yeah, I'm still a bit miffed that Roys guy still has a thread on the first page. You know, the guy I totally called out on just using this site as an ad space for his little geex program and not really interacting with the community. Whom, to this day, has yet to post outside that thread or about anything other than said program. The same guy who got on to me for accusing of him of such a horrible assumption... that turned out 100% true.

Anyways, glad you got that wall down. I remember you mentioning that is wasn't particularly interested in the prospect of coming down. So woot.

From the review, sounds like a typical not-really-thought-out and not checked enough maker game in general. Typos, bugs, etc.(Reviewer had to quit 8 hours in it looks like from a game-breaking bug):P Then again, I know several people who don't even know the Indie tab on XBL exists!

That's cool that you can take out a whole wall. o_o Good luck cleaning! We're having to do quite a bit at my girlfriend's home as well. Her mom had a stroke when she was just getting out of undergrad, and then she went to higher college and her stuff needs organized and stored.

Well, as you can tell from the video, it's not a real wall. As it turns out, it was just a few light-wood doors that were nailed together.

Also, now there's a wall behind my desk again, but it's a different wall, with a window. The new view is gonna take some getting used to. Also also, wow, I have a lot more space now. I mean never mind that the view from my front door is better. I could actually lay between my sofa and entertainment cabinet. There wasn't enough room to do that, before. And the lighting situation has improved, as without the wall, I only really need one light on at a time. Though at the same time, all my video games are now powered by a light switch.

I love the entertainment center area especially. I had that sort of setup on a smaller scale when I lived alone my last year of college. Though it did get pretty lonely actually living alone at times, having the computer center and the whole small entertainment thing was awesome. And came with built-in shelves on top of the computer, perfect for my figures, haha.

Glad to see there will be a triumphant return happening soon.

Well, despite having the majority of my free time taken away due to being called in to work twice in a row, I recorded something, anyway. Here's a clip from the next episode of "Light in the Sky".



Actually, it won't really appear in the next episode, 'cause that was a redundant battle that will be edited out, so consider it a teaser bonus clip. =P

So, at long last, here's the first episode of "A Light in the Sky" since forever ago. It's the first of two videos I've recorded. The second part will upload maybe on Tuesday (I haven't edited it, yet). I should point out that I'm posting this as I head to bed, and it is still processing at this moment, so if you don't see the video, give it about ten more minutes.




We make our overdue return to "A Light in the Sky" by exploring the tunnel leading to Woodwind Prarie. Unfortunately, the tunnel is very hot, with many painful enemies to deal with along the way.

Since it has been so long since I did this LP, I also do a recap of the events leading up to this point. And more importantly, I discuss the repurcussions of night still falling like normal, as well as the effect the night curse had on me as a gamer. Which honestly wasn't much.

Here's the other episode for this week. Definately glad to be doing this, again. It's fun.




After making it out of the tunnel, we stall for time, because ten minutes does not an episode make. And during our stalling, we find that something is indeed not right in the country of Woodwind Prarie.

Also, RPGM3's nighttime is dark. I will need to experiment with my capture device's settings so you can actually see what I'm doing.

I got really into the game, and recorded four episodes yesterday. We'll eventually be hitting up the local tower and killing the demon hiding there, but for now, here's the first episode for the week, freshly edited.




New party member! Whooooooo! Also, a town was destroyed.

I had spent so long planning to rant about how the gate was used to artificially block off an upcoming event, only for it to turn out that it wasn't. =P

Instead, we explore what's left of Arcilon before heading to the city of the Rito Aeris. Looks like we're going to be following a giant talking bird to that tower over there!

Hope you didn't get too used to having daily updates this week. There's one more episode I recorded after this, but I won't have it ready for a couple days.




After getting a little lost at first (you'll see why), we make our way to Odin's Tower, where we find that making our way up isn't very straightforward.

I should probably try to figure out how to solve that puzzle legitimately, sometime.
