For those who have played or are playing Skyward Sword, what are your opinions about the game at your respective locations. I'm currently working in the 3rd real dungeon and I'm getting a little pissed off at the Beamos. As for the game overall, I really enjoy the story so far and how I've been playing for many hours in one day and have only gotten as far as I have. I like how you can upgrade your equipment to make them more durable to have new abilities. I haven't been able to upgrade anything worthwhile yet. Also, stamina is not that big of a pain. It's a bit annoying when you're in quicksand or something, but otherwise, I've had no real issues with it. Plus flying isn't hard. I don't have to flap my arms around like a dingbat.

Also, first boss is a pain in the ass.

Right now, I've gotten to the end of the Goddess Ceremony at the beginning of the game. So far I'm very intrigued by what's going on (the black tornado just happened and all). The game has done a really good job making Zelda cute and likeable in this one. I mean, she's generally the McGuffin in these adventures and I don't particularly care about her much. But in this one, she actually has a personality besides stoic.

I haven't gotten in much past that. This is a good topic. Let's try to get it up to date.

I have just beaten the game. Since you're near the beginning, I'm not gonna say much so you don't get spoiled. But it is a great game. Battle can sometimes be annoying and the puzzles can be as well, but I would say this is my favorite Zelda of the bunch, and I would dare say the best in the series. OoTers can go ahead and bash me, but to each his own.

I really like the upgrade system and it would be a good idea to go ahead and upgrade things early in the game if you can. I'll eventually do Hero Mode, but not for right now. I'm drained from playing the game all day for 3 days straight.

I beat the game about a week or two ago and I have to say that this is now one of my favorite Zelda titles. And that's saying something if I can over look all the waggle and that damn stamina meter. But it's true. Like previously mentioned, Zelda has never before been portrayed as such a deep character before. The deepest her character has ever been was maybe when she was Shiek in OoT, but even then she mostly remained very mysterious and avoided showing too much personality.

The story was really good. And the ending was the best of any Zelda yet IMO. I spent about 40 hours beating the game. A lot of that time was because I was refusing to look up a FAQ when I was stuck. I remember breaking down and looking twice the entire time, which is actually really good for me (that last dungeon was hell on earth without a guide). But yeah, I spent a lot of time collection bugs and materials and I ended up upgrading just about everything to max. I even got the fourth shield in the game, which was a lot more work than I expected. I also really enjoyed the kind of cell shaded graphics that's more akin to Windwaker than the more realistic look of Twilight Princess.

I have to mention though that the waggle was fairly terrible. And that's sad considering that sword play is one of the main reason waggle even exists. Aside from several other instances, this one boss fight had you slashing downward on its head three times. And you had to do it quickly before being knocked off. I made sure to sing perfectly downward, but waggle kept saying it was slightly angled, so my attacks glanced off and I was bucked off. And it was a fight where you had to do it in a set amount of time... very very frustrating. And couple that with having to run to catch up only to have to stop for a second to have your stamina meter recharge... grrrrrr.

But again, all that is overshadowed by a rare and amazing overall game.

Well, most the time anyways.

You retard, those "flicks" are exactly what I'm talking about.

It's a simple flick. You said "flap". From what I can tell, one simple flick of the wrist is not a flap.

I was talking about the waggle required for flying period. Call it flicking, flapping, waving, whatever. It's all the same. I though you were aware that I wasn't actually waving my entire arm like that to begin with...

The words mean different things. If you say "flapping", it says that you're waving your arms like you're flapping the controller. May be semantics, but most people would assume you're saying you're flapping your arms, thus when you say you have to flap, people will think you're flailing your arms.

Hey, originally you said that all you needed to do was dip down for a bit and build up speed and aim the controller up and you would gain altitude. That no waggle was required at all. Actually you and Myoky both stated that.

This was not what was in the video.

In my experience you don't even have to be as forceful with the motion as you were in the video.

It's not a matter of how forceful he was, it still needed to be done period. When you both said that it was absolutely not required. This is, in fact, false.

Incorrect.

In fact, that was my entire argument.
