but, I...

I am now (I think) past the halfway mark in the campaign in Duke Nukem Forever. The level I got to before going to bed four hours ago was Ghost Town.

I'm really enjoying the game but I think there may not be a co-op campaign...
I am playing on "Piece of Cake" so that I can play to the end with the pistol they started me with. After that I will play again on hard.

Wait, you start off with a pistol? I started on the normal difficulty and only got it after I made it a ways past the Duke Cave and beat up some aliens. I intend to do the pistol run as well so I need to find out if I'm better off just starting on easy if that's the only way you can get it.

That pinball achievement can eat a bag.

It is the same pistol you speak of. If you notice, the description says to carry a gold pistol. Just take a look at it and see if it is gold. If so, that is the very first pistol. Pretty sure you break it out of a display at the museum or something like that.

Yes that pinball achievement can eat a bag.

When you get to the strip club, don't turn in the three items or you end the level. You first need to find and drink all the beer in the club. I guess I missed one. Maybe they count the first one you pick up that adds to your inventory...

Lantis and I finally finished up the last three dungeons or so of Deadly Premonition. ... It sucks. It has piss-poor controls, a terrible selection of music that hardly is ever even appropriate to the situation, many plot points don't make a lick of sense, and most of the characters say stupid senseless things all of the time.

But we were actually laughing about how much it sucked yesterday, instead of getting enraged. And Lantis also played a lot better at some of the more difficult parts of the game, including during the driving segments. I guess being under the influence of alcohol really does help.

SK is right. We finished Deadly Premonitions the other night hocked up on Four Loco, and I really did have much less trouble then the last time we got together and played it. I even had to re-do a hallway full of those wall crawlers because I must have forgot to save right before the boss fight... and just decided to re-load the save because the fight had multiple parts (and would quicksave between the parts) and ran out of healing items. So I wanted to try to do better on the first parts to save the healing items for the later. So I loaded and had to fight those damn wall crawlers for a second time. And when I got to the boss fight again, I only took one hit the entire fight.

Anyways, I got a question: In any game you've every played that has achievements... if there are different difficulties, what happens if you beat the game on normal? Do you also get the achievement for beating the easy difficulty? Well it WAS 100% for me that that was the case. But no, not Deadly Premonition. They actually expect me to go back and play the game entirely on easy. I think I'm good. No thanks.

Still playing Duke Nukem Forever, Pier Solar, and Radiant Historia.

I've currently been playing MAG in my off time of creating the next Mag.

I've already worked my way through Valor and SVER and am now in Raven at Level 45. I think once I get to the max level of 70 with Raven I'm gonna put this game away.

I'm playing Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes for the Wii.
I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised with this game. I wish I had known about this series before.
I beat Heroes' Story with Iyeatsu (guy with a hoodie that fight with his fists) and Magoichi (mercenary chick who uses a magnun, a shotgun and a machine gun) This version of the 16th century is pretty fun, specially when you consider there's also a giant flying robot. XD

I just beat Duke on Piece of Cake difficulty and am now playing on Come Get Some(?) or what ever the insane difficulty is named. As I go, I am picking up some of the missed achievements like get all ego boosts and such. Shouldn't be too long until I have all 1000GS. Once I do, I plan on mailing this game with ten others to my brother-in-law in Afghanistan.

The insane difficulty is Damn, I'm Good. And I gave up on the rail battle with the Mothership. I have all the achievements but beating hard and insane. And you know what? Screw it. I spent forever on that Mothership fight. I have max ego, and it doesn't do a big of good for you. You go down to zero in one hit and the next hit means death. I tried to alternate between ships to shoot at, as I'd be able to survive but still be able to focus on one ship for the maximum amount of time, but it never fails that a second ship always get through. So yeah, I think I'm done. And it's not even that specific fight that killed it... it's the thought of the Octaking fight on insane that makes me say f*ck it. Though I wish you luck. Keep me posted on your progress.

Now I'm going back full time into Radiant Historia. I love, love, love this game. I still need to go back to Pier Solar and a playthrough of Final Fantasy V I started some time ago.

I got to Level 70 in Raven, which means I've cleared all three PMCs in MAG! I now consider the game complete and I'm probably going to start moving away from it in time.

I've been playing the following:
MAG
Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising - War Room maps with Sami only. I'm considering it a challenge.
Radiant Historia - all my crew is Level 8 and I just opened up a few more happenings.

I have a 42% completion on Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes. Dang there are too many paths per character, with 3-4 ending each
I've also played only 35 o the 38 stages, so I can't play the other 3 in Quick Battle yet.
And I have only 36 of the 100 allies.

Lately I say "screw it!" when it comes to full completion, but I'm rooting for myself in this one. Go me!

I am about ten hours into Two Worlds II and this game is much higher quality than the first. There are a few things I miss from the first that aren't here in the second or have been changed some. Also, I have minor gripes here and there but I am really enjoying the game so far.

In DNF, I too stopped at the mothership battle but I will try again someday.

I hope none of you care to play L4D or L4D2 with me ever again as I sent those away in a care package of fifteen xbox 360 titles overseas.

Otherwise, no progress in anything else. I randomly pick up the PSP for oldschool emulations of GBC titles or Genesis games.

I recently beat Radiant Historia 100% complete. It took about 47 hours, but I managed all 236 possible events and got the true ending. This has been, by far, the best RPG I've played in a very long time. And I'm absolutely sure I'll go back to it sometime down the road.

Now that I'm done with that, I'm moving back to Pier Solar. The game is hard as nails, but it's still alright. The story's interesting enough, but it's not as spectacular as I expected. But I have sworn on my honor that I will complete it come hell or high water. So wish me luck.

On my phone, I've been playing some FFV. It's been a while since I've done it, so I wanted to go through that again. I've played FF6 with Ix this year, and I played FFIV Complete, so doing V just seems right. I just made it to past the clash on the big bridge, and I've got some pretty pimp job combinations going.

Other than that, I got Valkyria Chronicles 2, and I look forward to putting a good number of hours into that. The first one was amazing, and I'm hoping the second follows suit. I'm positive though that it can't be as bad as Parasite Eve 3 though.

And somehow I got talked into being dragged along for the ride. =(

In FFV, I'm a the top of one of the towers to take down Exdeath's barrier around his castle. Unfortunately it seems Atmos is being a bit of a problem. But I'll make quick work of him, you'll see. And what I find interesting is that no matter how many times I play the older FF games (at least IV-VI) they never seem to get old.

In Pier Solar, I think I'm finally getting close to the end of the game. I figured out something too. There are accessories that protect against certain elements... but all enemies in the game have an element. And in a dungeon, they are always the same element. If you equip the right one, then you take MUCH less damage in the game. This makes things much more bearable. Not to mention I stumbled across a book that taught my characters to start off every battle with 1 gather. This has been absolutely invaluable. Not only does everyone do a crap ton more damage, but you can spend the first turn dumping all that gather into one person... and that one person has an AOE, the fight is over. So the game's gotten much easier since the beginning.

Also, I've had the time to sink some hours into Valkyria Chronicles 2. I was a bit worried that going to PSP from PS3 would make it lose a good deal of what made the first so good. But that's not the case. The game is fantastic. In fact, they expanded on it a good deal. At first I was a bit scared. All the job classes were there... but sniper. And it was replaced by something called Armor Tech. The Armor Tech class has only melee attack, has crazy defense, and can lay/disable mines. At first, I was down right angered that they replaced sniper with these guys. But after playing with them, they are crazy useful. They can one shot people even if they are ducked behind sandbags. Which is freakin' awesome. And then I noticed something. Remember in VC1, you could become elite? Well they took that away and instead have it where you can upgrade your class through a tree. And sniper is one of those upgrades in the scout tree. So no worries. Now looking at it, there is four times as many classes than the first. So as far as battle goes, they've done a fantastic job. The storyline however, kind of a let down. The first one, you were a super small country making it in the Great Europa War. After having defeated the emperor, peace was finally established. Now, in the first game, there is a race of people called Darksens. They were thought to be the cause of a great disaster several years ago, so everyone has held very high prejudice towards them. Well, at the end of the first game, the leader of all of Gallia (the name of your country) revealed herself to be a Darksen and it was proven that Darksens weren't the cause of whatever that huge ordeal was. So you are like, "Awesome, peace is restored and now there'll be no more racism!" WRONG! In VC2, instead of fighting in some huge war, it's a civil war within Gallia because people from southern Gallia can't stand that a Darksen is ruling the country... Yeah... Super duper lame. I mean, the story is good. The dialog is well done, and all the character are well fleshed out, but the whole motivation for them fighting this time around just feels retarded. I still love the game, but I wish that it was something other than Gallia fighting it's self.

Other than that, I've been playing Ms. Splosion Man with the guys. Fun times.

So I've finally done it. After several years of managing a backlog, I've caught up on all the games I really wanted to play. There's still a good number of games that I was moderately interested in playing which I suppose I could start working on now, but still. This is pretty awesome.

I finished FFV and my most damaging unit was Butz. Using the bare class, I had him dual wield the two strongest weapons in the game. Gave him X-fight (strikes 4 times with each weapon for half the damage but 100% hit rate) and used sword magic and cast Flare on said swords. It was a massacre. I also beat Pier Solar. That final fight took FOR-EV-ER. It was pretty difficult, but I managed anyways. It was pretty good for what it was and I look forward to Dray's LP in the future. And I also finished Valkyria Chronicles 2. It wasn't quite as good as the first, but it is still a fantastic game. The transition to PSP from PS3 didn't hurt the game at all. But the random items you are given which are required to job level up were. That would be the only thing I'd change about the game.

As for now, I'm just killing time playing Dead Island with Ix and Isnult. Not the best game in the world, but it's alright with friends.

I'm playing the GBA version of Final Fantasy 1. My party is Red, Red, White, Black mages. Just got to Elfreim or whatever it's called.

In Dead Island, I am rounding off the last of my achievements with the help of my friends (mostly Lantis) and then I can shelve the game behind my other completed titles.

I also just found that DLC Quest is a wonderful little game on XBLI. It takes DLC to a whole new low. Many games come incomplete requiring you to purchase content that should have shipped with the game. Features such as sound, animation, swords, and the ability to move to the left. Fear not as the DLC is entirely ingame using coins collected. Great game for only a single dollar.
