I downloaded Whataface2's "map packs for RPG Maker 3". The downloaded zip has a folder called "PS3" and a folder inside that called "Export" and then something I'm guessing is the actual game file, with an extension "PSV".

Umm... I don't have a PS3. I have a PS2.

Does this mean I can't see the guy's work?

That's exactly what it means. Since the PS3, some users decided to just create their games on PS3. And it's to my understanding that THEY know they are limiting the users that can play their game to just those who have PS3's. At least if they'd make it on an actual PS1/2, they could upload the .GME and then if the user has a PS3, could use that adapter to move it over.

As for what I would suggest? If a user really wants to have everyone open to play a game... do both. It's what I'm planning to do. It's a little extra effort, but no more than making a freaking entire game. Just sayin'

Lemme ask you this then Lantis. Is there a way to convert from PS3 to Max Drive? I know you can convert from dex/max drive to PS3, but does it work the other way around?

Not that I know of. The way it works to go from .GME to PS3 is by using a memory card adapter on the playstation. You can import a card as a virtual memory card onto the PS3. And to the best of my knowledge, there is no option to export back to a memory card.

And even if that were possible... if someone doesn't have a PS3 to begin with, they're screwed anyways.

It's possible. I'm pretty sure I did it a few times on my old PS3. I can try to convert it for, but I don't know if it will work because my new PS3 isn't backwards compatible. It's not like I have to put the disc in to do it so I'll try sometime this week.

If you figure it out, please tell me how you did it because I looked everywhere for a way to export back to cards and couldn't find it.

I got it to work, but now my f*cking max drive refuses to copy the data to my flash drive in .max format. I had the same problem last time I tried using it, but that was a while ago. I'll try it again later, but it takes a minute or so each time you try to copy it over before it's giving my the error. That makes it frusterating.

If you have a PS2 memory card converter box thingy you just plug it into the PS3 and copy the file from the virtual memory card to the real one. It's the exact same as if you were copying it to another virtual memory card.

Getting .psv files to the internet is WAY easier then .max so it's nice. And it's another option for people that don't have max/dex drives. I don't think anyone would do just one format if they could help it. I'm stuck with PS3 as far as RPGM1 goes because no dex drive. It does suck still that most people don't have access to both formats.

Oh, she's a girl? Sorry, Whataface2.

Thanks, Lantis, for clarifying all of that. Well, that's a bummer. I've never had any plans to get a PS3, but more importantly, I don't have the money to shell out for one. I is what you rich people would call po'. I's a po' person.

Since we've got all these different formats here, I guess I should say, just FYI, that my recently posted games are in .max format for the PS2. Oh wait, I already said that. It says in the post above that I have a PS2 and not a PS3, so logically, it would stand to reason that they'd be in PS2 format. Okay. 'Nuff said. ;)
