some time back i read that you could edit your timer in rpg maker 1. does anyone know how to do this? im going to hit the maximum time soon and i want to keep tract of my game time so i want to reset the timer when i begin work on the 4th card of my game. the problem is i have far too much stuff id have to remake to make it worth while without hacking it.

I never heard of this. The only thing I heard regarding the timer is that RPGM1 ultimately only bases the time off of system data. If you have a system and scenario save at 12 hours, and you only work on and save the scenario, then next time you load, it'll revert back to the system's 12 hours.

The only way I'd know of would be to edit a Dex drive save using a hex editor to set the time to whatever you wanted.

thats what id do but i dont know where the timer is located in the save. id whip out a save i have now and do it as im only concerned with the map and larger still that ive had done for ages.

edit: im going to make a new sys data tomorrow with nothing in it and upload it. then compare my hex file with the new one and see if i can narrow it down. thats about the only way ill figure this out. i dont think its ever been done before.

i found the code that edits the timer when you open the file but as soon as you save it reverts back to the internal clock.

line 2f40-2f70 up to 4th cluster in on that last line.

i was able to edit the numbers and was able to change the entire code for the timer. it reverted back to its true time when i saved on it.

i give up for now, just isnt working.

update: i decided to bite the bullet and start transferring what ive done to the new card. i hooked up two playstations and tvs and went from one to the other to enter data. so far in 4 hours ive moved most of my items over, nearly every magic, the field map, and thats about it. i still have to finish the magic, items ect, then readd the monsters, skills, and character info. this was every bit as painful as i imagined it to be.
